CNN doxxes Reddit user over Trump wrestling gif

<sigh> The violence being (A) professional wrestling (and if you believe that is real you are going to hate what I have to tell you about the Easter Bunny) and (B) against the CNN logo.

There are plenty of opportunities to hate and criticize Trump without looking like a total idiot.

I also really struggle to see the original gif as being particularly shocking. In fact I thought the Kathy Griffin thing was worse (at least, it was just very very odd, not really sure what point it was supposed to be making). Again, for me, the thing about Trump posting the image is just how juvenile it makes him look, and lacking in the dignity a president ought to have. It's just a bizarre thing for someone in such a position to do.

But the defence for CNN, I think, is that it turned out the other stuff the meme-maker had posted really was vile. Having found he was posting such stuff, I can see they might have felt morally obliged to ask him to stop doing so. I'm just not sure why they decided to go to all the trouble of finding the guy in the first place. Is it because the CNN guys don't realise how commonplace such stupid memes are?

I agree completely with all of that. I'd say that CNN did not know how common are such memes (or how much common they would become after CNN doxxed this guy) and figured that there was a good chance they could find something to embarrass him into shutting up or if not, get a boycott from inflamed leftists against his employer to get him fired. Instead, they hit the jackpot. And congrats on predicting Trump's ascension - I'd have bet good money there was no possible way he could get elected.

I don't disagree one bit that this one is a dud, but my point was that the parent company of CNN is funding a play where every day, Donald Trump is brutally stabbed to death at the same time that CNN is claiming that a silly Internet meme of Trump body-slamming a CNN logo is literally an assault on Western civilization and a danger to their personnel.

Do you know nothing of Julius Caesar? I think the real problem is that Caesar hits way too close to home, even for his most ardent Trumpflake supporters. Subconsciously, they actually get it. The vile fascism of this man they feel deep in their souls, and they understand the evil they hath wrought...they just can't be brought accept it.

This production has triggered Trumpflakes such that their only rational response is to project their very real self-hate outwardly, onto the public, blaming their perception of what "the liberal world" is for all of the darkness manifest within themselves. This is really what is happening. Perhaps there will be a catharsis among these, the most deplorable of the deplorables.

Anyone that finds offense in this completely benign, completely common production of Julius Caesar fits within this category of Trumpflakes that I have here described.

I literally saw that gif and went, "Fuck I really wanna watch Robocop 2." unfortunately I only have 1 on BRD.

I think I watched Robocop 2 back then it was new, and recall it being something of a B-rated lesser version of the first one (unintentionally--I think Robocop is meant to straddle that B-A line as a satire on propaganda and the media and culture's addiction to violence). But was it really as bad as I remember, and that is why it is good?
