I suspect we have reached peak Trump and now his poll numbers will stagnate and eventually collapse, leading the way for Jeb Bush being president in 2016

I agree but if that doesn't happen then I'm at a total loss.

The middle class saw no change while the rich got much, much richer?

Democrats love to crow about how Obama "saved the economy" and "restored the booming stock market" as if those things actually mean anything to anybody other than the 0.1%.

It is funny that its somehow Obama's fault that the rightwing has spent decades courting racists for votes. Also the same people that don't believe he's a US citizen. All the problems with division in this country have come from the right simply because they are mad a black guy is in office and giving orders.

Obama foisted his black face on the nation when he won the election, causing the racists to go batshit crazy and divide this country. So yes, it is certainly Obama's fault.

/sarcasm

Calling Obama the worst president in history is laughable, particularly considering the disastrous president that came before him. Republicans dont need supporting facts for that assertion though. It might as well be inscribed in the bible. It requires no facts or measures to back it up. He is because they say he is, and thats that.

So Obama inherited a tax system structured on trickle down economics that has been in place since Reagan, and oversaw one of the longest bull market runs in history that will obviously favor investors, and you want to hang this on him? Despite TOTAL resistance by Republicans to any effort by Obama to strengthen unions, invest in infrastructure, or shift the tax burden from the poor and middle class to the rich who reaped all these gains, you are going to hang this on him?

Since you are obviously a card carrying conservative, please tell us ONE concrete policy Obama could pass by Republicans that would shift income gains to the middle class. And no, giving a tax cut to the rich in the hopes that trickle down might actually work this time doesn't count.

Let's ignore the 65 months of job growth while also ignoring the fact that wealth inequality has been growing for decades along with stagnant wage growth.

Let's just cherry pick the figures you want to use so you can tell democrats who think the economy is improving but needs more work are wrong about the economy improving.

Maybe people like you should get out of the way of the dems and the president so they can actually address the issues they've been talking about that you've only latched on to for political point scoring.

Nah, you'd rather bitch and complain about dems not fixing things fast enough and good enough while always being silent about the other party and branch in our government who has been, literally, obstructing Obama since the day he was sworn in.

Both sides are the same of course! We just never hear you talk about the other side. I'd ask you why you think that is but we know what your response will be.

I wish the Republicans WOULD get out of the way of the Democrats, and let them enact every hair-brained scheme they can think of. The fallout would finally convince people that the two parties both DO suck donkey balls. As it stands, the Republicans stonewall enough to minimize the damage the Democrats can do. If only the Democrats had the balls to actually block the Republicans from doing stupid shit...

You mean all those hair brained schemes like social security, medicare, and the ACA?

I'm sure you probably take the first 2 for granted, and great exception with the third.

When you start telling righties on this site to get out of the way then I'll change my view of you. As it stands now, when called out, you retreat to you disliking both sides. The proof is in the pudding

propaganda for Carly has started in the media last night.. Media is so completely bought.. The nexus between politicians and the media is just insufferable

Pretty much all I've seen/heard in the media is that she knocked it out of the park. I watched the debate, I didn't see it.

Nobody's talking about Bush admitting to smoking pot in his younger days?

Thank god we're past that question being important.

Once again Marco Rubio has to lie about his family history because he thinks it makes him more popular with the real refugees. His parents didn't "escape." They fucking left of their own free will before the coup. Does it suck Castro took power after they moved and probably prevented them from moving back if they had chosen to do so? Yeah, but they weren't exiles so it's a moot point.
-snip-

His parents may not have "escaped" but they are exiles.

ex·ile
ˈeɡˌzīl,ˈekˌsīl/
noun

1.
the state of being barred from one's native country, typically for political or punitive reasons.
https://www.google.com/search?q=exiles+definition&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

I know other Cubans who were stuck over here a as result of the Cuban revolution. Most were working for the huge Cuban sugar company (The United Fruit Company IIRC) in NJ/NY.

They consider themselves exiles. I see no reason to argue with them. If you just happen to be outside of your country, whether due to work or vacation, and a revolution occurs and you can't return that's pretty unfortunate.

I really want to know Trumps thoughts on this. Since Trump insisted that Obama was born out of the US to a US mother.

If Obama were born outside of the US he wouldn't be a US citizen under the rules that Congress had in effect at that time.

Even if he were automatically a US citizen under those rules I think it still a question of whether he would qualify as a "natural born citizen" ("NBC").

In regards to Ted Cruz, I find it interesting that before John McCain ran Congress passed a bill stating that even though John was born outside the US he (John McCain) is eligible to be President. I believe there were none or very few that resisted that idea. Ted Cruz cannot get a similar thing done. Building bridges vs burning bridges.
-snip-

Congress cannot itself change the Constitution by vote; whether law or resolution. I think it still an open question whether McCain qualifies as a NBC.

I think Cruz has the same question.

I won't comment on any candidate's performance, but I didn't care much for either debate.

- Too many candidates

- They are allowed too little time to provide details or even a chance to adequately explain their positions. All we get are sound bites.

- Crappy questions. I'm looking for policy, the media seems interested only in ratings and thus chooses questions that they hope results in personal attacks and zingers.

Some questions aren't suitable for debates, and instead are better suited for interviews. E.g., in the 1st debate Fox's Kelly questioned Trump about his name calling of women like Rosie O'Donnell. That excludes the other 9 candidates. How can they debate that topic? Likewise with this latest debate's 'question' about Trump's comment on Carly's looks. That also excluded the other 9 candidates since they were involved. They're wasting my time with this non-policy trivial crap.

Crappily designed debates IMO.

And for heaven's sake, give Jake Trapper a break and have a bell or buzzer signal when time is up.

Regardless of the effect of the "John McCain is a natural citizen" vs the wording in the Constitution don't you find it telling that Ted Cruz can't get a similar thing done in a Republican Congress?

Yeah, it's possibly telling.

Seems to me that Cruz has angered the Repub establishment.

OTOH, I think such a resolution is unnecessary, or at least premature. Other than Cruz himself his mother is the only person who actually believes he'll win the nomination. So why bother?

Jesus Christ Trump really is starting to take on a Palinesque appeal. Just now in NH he decides to take questions from the crowd. I figure staged right? No. The first question is about we got a problem. Muslims. And we know how president is a Muslim, he's not even an American. When are we going to get rid of them.

It's just fucking sad. And I'm too lazy to start a new thread.

Yeah I am confused. Did she go and service the CNN anchors , editors and the board before the debate.

She was just plain during the debate and all of a sudden , they are making it like she is a phoenix rising from the ashes,

It was Megyn kelly after false news debate and now we have another female contender Gnarly Fiorina in the spotlight..

Carly made an ass of herself. In all reality.
Kept butting in as if to say ME ME ME.
And what she said about planned parenthood, that nonsense about twitching fetus legs, made it more than clear that Carly is just another right wing nut case.
Right up there with Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee.
No, Carly exposed herself for the fool she actually is.
And made it quite apparent exactly why she was fired from her past business endeavors.
She's a looney.
CNN had to justify this turd of a debate they hosted, so naturally CNN pretends Carly knocked it out of the park. To justify the debate AND justify extending it to three hours.
We all know the only reason CNN extended was because Donald was there.
More revenue, another hour of ratings.

Carly is not going to be president. Ben Carson is not going to be president.
It's all just entertainment. And that is only while Donald Trump remains on stage.
Once Donald tires of all this, people will no longer care.

Carly did well during the debates, not perfect but she did well in my opinion. You can tell she did well because the attacks have begun. I just saw a scroll on the news:
HP sold 100 million worth of computers to Iran
HP petitioned to be allowed to sell servers to Iran during Carly tenure

Carly did do well, she lied a bunch but so did most of the other candidates.

No one stood out in my mind. I did think that rand paul pretty much shut down trump with his comment about trump and his school yard tactics, I think it opened up trump to others.
