Excactly. So basically he (or one of his minions) said something to the press about a possible path to citizenship. He said nothing about that path in his speech, but also didn't say there would not be one.

You can't even articulate the lie. Just because he didn't include that point in his address doesn't make it a lie. Trump is a negotiator. This fact may eventually tick off the far right but I do think a path to legal status is not only a possibility under Trump, it's likely. I don't see immigration reform happening without it.
