About CNR, is it's performance as good as a PCI network card? And when the hell is it going to start being sold?

Im not sure about the performance. But it will be available on the i815E and KT133 motherboards. As for the CNR hardware, there is a big question mark. Remember AMR slots? We still havent seen any AMR cards.

I believe the mobo must have an Intel 815E chipset with the ICH2 chip to provide CNR support. Then the mobo maker has to implement either the network connector or the CNR slot on the board. Finally you've got to get a card. I think they'll be available later this year, since they offer more versatile features than AMR. The ASUS CUSL2 has 2 CNR slots, I noticed in the specs.

does CNR need CPU time like the AMR? Sorry for asking, but I never bothered to find much info on CNR.

I believe it relies on another chip on the mobo. I think the card is just a connection mount for cat5 and all the circuitry is already on board.I saw a picture of one but I'll be danged if I can find it now.

Hehe, yeah I've done a helluva lot of research before I came here, and I can't tell anything......Intel is making a card, but they only sell it in packs of 5 and 20. That should change I guess. I'll find all the pics I saw. Oh and D-Link, and Kingston are also making a card, the D-link looks pretty nice. WOOOOOOHHOOOOOO, as I was typing this up UPS brought me my SE6 (i815e) and my 933. Well I'm going to have to cut this message short for obvious reasons.

ok I understand. It allows for easy component integration without having to worry about the plugs not being compatable with the case on the back.

It's a good idea, seeing as it doesn't use the CPU time.. the KX133 has the option to include this right?
