Murray Energy supported Trump's attempt to prop up coal, but its CEO says the Senate tax plan would kill the company. And it would likely take down other coal companies, too.
You have to like the irony: Trump's bid to preserve the coal industry is being undermined by his own party. I mean, I'd rather kill the tax plan (coal is thankfully dying no matter what Trump does), but there'd be a silver lining if it hastened the death of coal and a shift toward renewable energy. Maybe someone can tell Trump that the plan would kill coal so he'll refuse to sign it!
