Warning - tried ordering, didn't see the little yellow lock in the corner, possibly indicating a security hole. Someone could be gathering all your information? I didn't really look into it, but its enough to spook me into not ordering.

check that. It asked me if I wanted to display insecure items. If you click yes, you dont get the lock. So I clicked no and I'm proceeding with order =). Thanks for the post Joker!

1) this cobra one doesn't perform too well, especially not compared to an 8500 or a v1 but then again look at the price differences. but it's good to have one for tooling around the city. i wouldn't recommned this one for hwy use.

2) i was able to get a little (emphasis on little) off of the 2 8500s that i've bought by using the 10% off coupons best buy sends out to their customers. couple that with some rebate gift cards you'd get from just buying crap thats posted on here and you can save a little off of the 8500's pricetag.

Wouldn't it work better on the highway where there is less interferance and less false alarms compared to city use?

yea, the 8500 is $300... a little too much for me now... a speeding ticket may be less than $300 hehe... well... just drive within speed limit
