COD 4 vs BF2

Which one do you prefer? I currently play BF2 and love/hate it both at times.

They're different games. CoD4 is mostly close-quarters combat and is very fast-paced, with multiple gametypes on small maps. BF2 is on huge maps with an emphasis on vehicles and at a slower pace, with just Conquest. Right now I'm playing CoD4 since I've already played my share of BF2.

Thanks I was curious about that info. I'm getting tired of BF2. Seems like people wanna play 2-3 maps over and over and over. Plus I've never been a big fan of the hitcode in BF2.

I play bf2, except, it's bf2combat, and thats the only reason i like it more then COD4.

EDIT: there are over 50 maps this tour in bf2c believe, for those who are bored of the same over and over again.

COD 4 has some good maps, but I think most of them are just to small for me. But then again you do not have any vehicles so it would suck if the map was too big.

I am hoping when they release the MOD tools there will be some bigger maps getting made.

I like BF2 better. But since Crysis came out, I can have my slower, more planned out combat as well as a dab of fast paced combat here and there. Perfect combination me thinks.

I haven't played BF2 since COD4 came out. I can't say I miss it right now, but BF2 was a lot of fun. I do miss the bigger maps and vehicles....maybe I'll play a round or two today...

I liked BF2, until I started playing a lot and running into problems. Then I switched to CoD2 and CSS, and I guess that CoD4's multi is similar to that of CoD2's? If it is then I'm gonna be addicted to CoD4.

Close Combat Shooters: IE CSS, Unreal Tourney = (IMO) = Chaos shooters. I cannot stand chaos shooters. Unless CoD4 has you walking a lot slower so its slightly tactical. Otherwise, I wont be looking at it anytime soon.

I love COD4 multiplayer.
Some of the maps are really good.
My biggest issue would be that there is a lot of grenade spamming going on.
On a smaller map that makes it so you spawn and die without really having a chance to move.
Not a big fan of the martydom option either.
There is also lots of servers that will play maps with 50+ players on maps that were designed for 16 players.

Other than that I think its great.

Is it tactical ?
It can be.
If you have a good team that works together.
Hard to get on public servers.
Most people just run around trying to get kills and ignoring team members.
When you do get a team that works together , it can be very tactical.

COD4 is sweet. I go on smaller servers because the maps are pretty small. I think ~16 or less is good for CoD4 maps. I have played some GREAT 6 player games even. With much more than that the maps are just to small and it doesn't really matter whether you are very good or not.

BF2 was a great game but at this point I can only find 3-4 maps that are even played. They are good maps but I can honestly only play them so much. All the Cod4 maps are good.

Every game requires tactics of some type. COD4 is not a tactical shooter by any means.

Extremely similar. Gameplay and controls are identical, but with gorgeous visuals, huge array of guns to choose from, perks, airstrikes, helicopter support, grenade launchers, and more!
