Other than occasionally being stuck on "synchronizing settings" or whatever it is during the map loading screen, which is fixed by exiting the lobby and reconnecting, I'm not having much in the way of issues with the game. It runs fine and I like what they've done with it. Still plays like COD but has a little bit of Unreal Tournament/Quake feel to it also which IMO is refreshing change for COD.

My load times are kind long but I also have all the caching options enabled and don't have this game on an SSD. I'll be snagging a 500+GB SSD for black Friday though. The ones I currently have are getting pretty full.

Defender, Instinct, and Recovery maps still not working for me at all. Game is unplayable in it's current state. Really upsetting I see people getting Prestige and stuff already. Just wish I could play the game I paid for. All my other online games (including other COD's such as COD4, MW2, and BLOPS2) work perfectly. I hope they can resolve this issue soon as this has been a waste of time and money for me, not to mention the frustration of not being able to play a game I had been anticipating. Out money, out time, and missing out on the fun. #sucks

Gave some thought to maybe buying this one, Black Ops 2 looked great and played well while Ghost just wow. The hype train with these games is beyond real.

Activision needs to learn from Ea here and release some freaking beta type deal.BF4 was as broken as a abused housewife in Alabama in a trailer park and they still had no cares in the world releasing that beta.

Here's to waiting for a free weekend, anyone know about when we could expect one?

I'll be honest - Ghost was my first CoD on PC in quite some time, with CoD 2 being my last time to play it on PC and playing the rest on my XBox 360. I'm a huge CoD fan, mostly due to the pace - it really reminds me of the arena style shooters of yester-year.

Ghost disappointed me so much, I actually didn't touch it for over 6 months - and that was mostly so I could play the campaign. Yes, I enjoy CoD campaign and it's the reason I basically buy them - they're like a trashy novel that you can't put down.

Anyways - I haven't had much of an issue with this year's game. Sure, I get some of the lag issues every now and then, but I typically just back out and find a new match. I did have Exo crash on me, but I was only trying it out.

The pace of this game is brutal - if you're not used to twitch shooters, it can be a rude awakening. I was playing with my friend last night and he was going 1-22 and staying in that vicinity on Kill Confirm. The key to CoD is understanding your speed, keeping mobile and now utilizing boost a LOT. I use Blast Launcher to stay hidden, and your first prestige unlock should be Gung-ho. This is some of my gameplay when I got my SAC-9's - I felt they were cheap to use in the hands of someone who can move around well, but I was trying to get some camo unlocks and understand their weaknesses.

Haven't played cod in a while. Going to pick it up tomorrow at target for the buy 2 get one deal on Xbox one. I'll probably rail through sp, play couple matches of mp and trade it in to best buy for $40 when I can.

I haven't been paying attention to CoD for quite some time, is that really what it's like now? Glad I stopped at Modern Warfare 1...

I'm trying to understand why you even bothered to reply with out giving any reasoning. Is it too fast-paced for you?

The speed and bouncing around twitch killing does remind me a bit of QIII Arena which I loved, but this is not what CoD should be. The game looks pretty damn soulless, and I think I would get bored with it just as fast as I did BO2, which I played just enough to prestige once, which took all of a day or so. LOL! I didnt even finish the campaign because it was just so "meh".

That sounds like a pretty good strategy for these type of games!

Yea the campaign got too sci fy for me to care about it. I enjoyed the older cod campaigns. You actually cared about the characters.

At least you didn't trade your most basic consumer right (return a bad product) for preloading the game. A friend of mine makes good money, $60 is not going to hurt him but it still stings. I played a little over an hour total over the weekend. If you do ok in BF4, you'll do great in AW, there is a lot less to worry about but the host migration will annoy the hell out of you.

This is an actual quote from a gamesindustry article

seriously, CODAW's singleplayer campaign was apparently written by a 15 year old off his tits on Mountain Dew and Doritos who had just watched Michael Bay's Transformers movies back-to-back and emerged with the sole complaint that "there weren't enough explosions"

RPS didn't have much nice to say about it either: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/11/05/advanced-warfare-review/

I read quite a few reviews to get a definitive answer about dedicated servers, I'm guessing most had deadlines to meet and couldn't dive into MP deep enough. I do see many consumers complain about it though:

COD is too big to fail, at any point in time at least 2 sequels are worked on and the target audience can't resist the urge the jump the newest one and the cycle doesn't break:

I was going to buy it on ps4 but my friend isn't playing cod anymore and since I bought the Xbox one this weekend it has no games. It's literally the same game every year and the trade in value at best buy for cod is always good.

Yea I almost bought the cod bundle but the 1tb hd was not worth the price. Not to mention I hate digital games because they have no retail value. I'm only buying it because it's coming free with the target deal.

The story itself, well I'm not expecting much except Kevin Spacey in your face. You figure the story would be good if he was in it, but nope it's still sci fi bull end of the world crap.

Eh, I've barely started the SP. Like I said, it's like a trashy novel or comic - you have to know that going into it.

How is it soulless? Are you saying that because I went the akimbo easy-mode in my video? There's enough counters to it - I was very frustrated when I first played against people with them, but after using them, I understood their weaknesses.

COD Ghosts was a horrible PC port (even for a COD game) -- the stuttering/ lag etc...never got fixed. Total rip-off.

Can anyone playing advanced warfare confirm for me that this years iteration does not suffer from these issues?...or is it another badly done port?

I did see TB's youtube video that showed a decent number of advanced graphic options -- that looks promising, but COD Ghosts also has a decent number (though not enough) graphics options as well and that game ran horribly.

So bottom-line: is advanced warfare at least a decent port?...does it run ok? -- (in both MP and SP).

(win 7, sli'd titans x2, 8 gig ram, 2600k @ 4.4)

Thanks.

It runs well (at least on nVidia equipment, I've seen reports on poor AMD performance). Biggest complaint I've heard and have seems to be netcode related, I assume this will work itself out after a patch or two.

Feel free to look at my video above, I run everything maxed out @ 1080p with 2x supersampling and I never drop below the 90FPS lock in MP.

I don't remember Modern Warfare being like that at all. The game play in the video looks more like a game of Quake. Too fast, running around with dual weapons, pickups with giant icons floating above the ground...

MW1 definitely had its issues too (nade spam, the auto grenade drop perk, etc.), but none of the above were among them.

The gameplay is identical, save for the aerial movements. Those honestly feel ripped straight out of Titanfall, but they do add an element of being able to dodge combat and really help with the flow of the game. You'd be surprised at how well it blends - I can put up some more gameplay later using a non-akimbo weapon.

Also, there's no pickups - that symbol on the ground you see is my care package when I call it in. I'm also playing Kill Confirmed, which is where you have to collect dog tags after a kill to add to the score - that might have you confused there, but it's been in the game since Black Ops II.

And, those are the only akimbo weapons - I have a feeling they'll get a range nerf soon.

It being soulless has nothing to do with your vid or how you were playing. The game itself looks dull and pointless, its just more of the same being pumped at us year after year with no heart, soul, or feeling that a game needs to immerse you in to get you hooked on playing. I haevnt felt anything for any of the CoD's since MW1 or (CoD4), the rest fell off my radar very quickly. After being persuaded by a friend to buy BO2 even though I knew better, I swore I wouldn't buy another unless they made some drastic changes that brought some life back to the series.

I also don't care for the sci-fi aspect in war games, it just ruins them for me. I hated BF2142 for that reason, and I'm afraid BF4's final stand DLC with hover tanks and rail guns will be the same.

Yeah it all went downhill quickly after MW1. MW2 was a decent game ruined by matchmaking without dedi servers, but it also started the ridiculous kill streaks, akimbo weapons, and other noob friendly aspects that ruined the series.

OK, so then why stick around in the thread? The colors are a lot better in this game than they were in BO 1 & 2, as well as Ghosts. Hell, the colors are better than BF4 as well. To be honest, I can't think of the last game that "immersed" me besides Farcry 3 or Metro 2033.
