Yeah, it looks horrible. I swear CoD games are actually regressing. I think MW2 was the best looking of them. This one just really looks horrible though.

I'd normally jump aboard the CoD-bashing train, but I'm actually impressed here. No one's giving them credit for at least taking the series in a new direction? I wasn't planning on buying the next Call of Duty game, but that trailer gives me Battlefield 2142 vibes. I might actually have to try it now.

The question is, do you get to drive those vehicles in multiplayer and not just as killstreak rewards? If so, look out BAttlefield, if not, nothing to see here, at least as far as multiplayer.

Meh. I'm done with the franchise, regardless of game quality at this point. Story will be too short and fairly predictable, online will be filled with exploits.

Making the setting 13 years into the future is a new direction? I suppose black ops compared to Modern Warfare 3 are two completely different games to you, never mind the same engine from 2007 and rail riding single player.

I didn't play Black Ops, so I can't really compare the two. And yes, I'm aware they're using a modified version of the Quake 3 engine, and yes, I'm also aware that CoD's singleplayer campaigns are heavily scripted and linear. (Although last time I checked, there's nothing wrong with linear games)

Setting the game 13 years into the future is a fine step in the right direction. After all, it could've just been another "MODERN WARFARE SO REAL"; instead, it's as if they're realizing how over the top the series already is, so they take it and run with it.

I think it's also safe to say now that Treyarch is a far better developer than Infinity Ward.

It really does seem like Treyarch has fully embraced the fact that Call of Duty has become complete nonsense and gone nuts with the story because of that.

Somehow this made up fictional nonsense actually makes more sense than the last two modern warfare games lol.

I just wish activision would let call of duty die. Let he developers release this game without the call of duty moniker attached. You've guitar heroed the shit out of a once amazing PC franchise. The horse is now a puddle of guts on the ground and they are still trying to beat it.

Modern Warfare - Set in 'contemporary' time
Black Ops 2 - 2025

I think I'll go play Crysis 1 and 2, at least the game has a pretty fun single player campaign

A buddy on Steam have put something like 150 hrs into MW3 though, think that's all he plays. And before that it was MW2..

It's funny you mention that because from the articles I've read, and maybe it's just the initial media hype on how Treyarch did their research on possible "realistic" future scenario with China's monopoly on rare elements blah blah written by David Goyer blah blah. Yeah, I'd like to see giant walking robots by 2025, hehe.

This really pisses me off. COD4 was the best version of the game and damn near everyone knows it. Since COD4 it's been downhill and this is the icing on the cake. I have a ton of games that have <2 hours so you can't feel that bad. Barely touched MW3 and a wee bit more in BF3. I've already put more time into Tribes: Ascend then I have with my last 5 purchased shooters combined. Dumping more than 20 hours into a game anymore sounds nuts to me... I just don't have the time. I've managed to stop buying every game that I'm even a little bit interested it because I was just digging myself a hole.

I've been playing cod since cod2 and it really is getting to the point where I have no interest in it anymore. Especially on pc where hackers run wild and never get banned. it's a shame I cannot play ground war without running into hackers almost every other game. Sure its not as bad as MW2 was but shit it's getting there really fast
