seriously, jump off the CoD hate bandwagon.

It's hard not to hate on it when you've been playing it for over 5 years and you watched it consistently go downhill and get worse with every new addition to the franchise.

I wont play COD again until you can pilot vehicles and the main game type isnt team deathmatch. Single player I could care less about.

A 1 year cycle is ridiculous. Even 2 years would be pushing it. Its just too bad a ton of people will buy, and then because those people did, more people will because no one plays the old one, so you need to get the new one. Typical of every EA game.

On consoles at least, the older cods are still some of the most actively played games. The top 2 played 360 games each week are almost always the last 2 cod releases. Doubt the ps3 is any different.

Definitely been a downhill slide since CoD4, though I must say Treyarch made a slight resurgence and had a decent outing with Black Ops. However Im no fan of the futuristic stuff, Id rather stay in the present or even go back as far as WW2.

$60 is a lot to the average person. Its also enough for a drunken night at a club with the chance of getting laid.

True I don't like that. Especially with a game like CoD where it's so fucking popular that everyone jumps to the new one the day it's released and the old one, even though it's a year old and just fine still, is left with much fewer players.

I'm a big fan of CoD games but not sure about this. I'd rather they took 2 years off to really revamp the game and engine. I do think Treyarch does a decent job. They got a lot of crap but World at War was pretty good and they did a good job with Black Ops. I was surprised that Infinity Ward/whoever else did as good of a job with MW3 as they did considering like half of the IW team left including very key members.

Cmon, its not that bad. I actually really enjoy it, my only real problem is them releasing so many, when theres no real need to except to make more money, but i guess how can you blame them if theyre making money.

Ive been playing a lot of BF3, and its MP is better IMO, but the thing i liked the most about the last 2 COD's (Black ops and MW3) are the extra game modes.

Survival is a ton of fun, and even better with a friend. Which is the reason i own the game for 360 and not PC - more of my friends are on XBL. If you havent played it, and enjoy zombies/horde mode, then its awesome.

Zombies in black ops was pretty fun too, until it got to a point where it was more about executing an EXACT strategy, and the only reason youd die was from messing up something stupid. But still really fun by itself.

Do i think they needed to release another whole game just to add these modes and tweak a few things, no. But it didnt stop me from buying, and i dont regret buying it at all.

Same thing with NHL 12. Essentially the same as 11, but with updated rosters. I bought it just to have the newest one to play online, and to be honest, i have no problem paying 60 bucks for a game that I play more than anything. Ive spent more on games that i might only put a few hours in. COD and NHL take up the most time out of any, so its not a terrible investment.

Why would that help? The consoles have no more power to throw at a new engine now than they did when they were first released, and the PC versions are straight ports.

CoD will get an engine overhaul when the new consoles come to market and not before.

Actually, it seems like most PC guys don't understand it either.

Before complaining about getting a new engine, consider the fact that Activision is developing for 7-year-old hardware, and this is the only way they can get it to run at 60fps on consoles. Since console gamers are their largest audience, they're going to develop for consoles first, therefore using the older engine. PC version then uses the same outdated technology.

If PC gamers were a bigger market to them, they'd probably see fit to make a new engine. But that's not the case. And why would they make a new engine for consoles that are already going out?
