Yep so I gave up on this game for a few weeks in hopes that they would patch it. Nope. Still stuttering. Framerates are still terrible. Thanks Treyarch... this game is an embarrassment...

All of my technical issues are fixed, but I really do miss the MW2 matching system (and most of the things about MW2). When you can actually find a decent server, they all have stupid rules like no claymores, no flashbangs, no turning to the left...

I guess when it comes to Call of Duty, I'm an IW person.

I think this all comes back to the fact that you cant please everybody.

There are benefits to IWNet, but there are also major flaws. It seems the most vocal group will always be whoever doesn't get what they want.

I'm happy with dedicated servers though, just gotta find a good one and stick with it

I'd like to see them keep the IWnet concept, except instead of it being locally hosted, host it on Treyarch servers. Just virtualize the whole thing.

I'm happy with the game itself. The technical issues are the only problem for me (though the spawn system is kind of messed up too).

Seems like the cpu is a big factor here. I have 2 friends with aging cpus and midranged cards. 1 with an e6300 and 1 with a phenom 9500. Both got freezes and pretty much 15-25fps average no matter what they do res change ,cfg change, shadows ect. The phenom guy upgraded to phenom 2 955 and he is saying he gets 50+ frames maxed out. Now the e6300 guy wants to upgrade as well.

I have a laptop with a slow i7 1.6ghz and i run about 40-50fps no shadows.

Yeah; I've heard that it's mostly people with dual cores at this point having issues, while quads are doing fine. I have an E8400 so that would make sense. If they aren't going to patch it, it looks like I may be waiting until I do a sandy bridge upgrade in the new year before I can play.

hmm i have a Q6600 at 3.0 and i have stuttering... is my CPU that bad?

I have another friend with a q6600 and a 5770 and he has yet so say anything about stuttering. Has to be something with your internet or maybe you should delete your config and let it remake it for you.

The coding is terrible for this game. They didn't spend more than an hour on it.

It's only optimized for one system and that's the console. The PC is just a shitty port they pump out to milk some money.

Apparently that console is the Xbox 360, because PS3 users have reported frame rate issues as well.

I just wanted to mention I have ZERO lag playing with no "sync every frame" maxed out at 1080p... and I live in the country and only can get a 1.5 Mbit DSL and I have no lag

All these issues puzzle me.

Because gaming is not about bandwidth; it is about latency. You can have a huge 500MB pipe that would be awesome for downloading files and streaming media, but sucky for games if the packets take half a second to travel down the wire. On the other hand, you can have a speedy DSL line close to the home office where packets fly down the wire in under 50ms; but if your pipe width can only squirt out a tiny 1.5MB stream, downloading porn is gonna suck.

And hardware lag has nothing to do with your internet connection. Derp.

You are wrong. On the first day someone figured out that It was internet speeds that causes some problems with the game. He sandboxed it some how and treyarch people confirmed his findings.

That's why there was stutter in single player as well? There are problems on both ends. With the dedicated servers, and with the game engine.

My connection is fine yet SP and MP remain unplayable. There may be a portion of the people with network issues but I can tell you I am having a hardware issue.

I should note that I always tried to play on Chicago servers and still had issues.

multithreaded i meant. let me try disabling it and see if it helps with the stuttering then. i think L4D had similar problems when multicore rendering was enabled (sound loop errors, etc).

shit you were right. disabling multithreading helped get rid of stuttering... now i can play with shadows on. haha

I just got this as a gift. The first level played fine, but the russian prison stuttered HORRIBLY. Smooth framerates otherwise, but horrid audio stuttering. Also, there were times when certain sounds would loop endlessly in the background.

I fiddled with the shadows and AA and the stuttering seemed to be less, but was still there. During the Russian rocket mission, there was almost no stutter. Now, theres a little bit (but manageable) in the vietnam missions, but thats as far as I've gotten.

For the record, I have a X2 250 (@3.0 ghz), 4GB of DDR2, and a 4850 @ 1680x1050.

New patch fixed my issues.

Funny how the new patch mentions fixing threading issues for dual core processors but mentions nothing about network improvements. My issues were CPU hardware related and had nothing to do with network.
