Yes, lag is bad. No, mouse control is not bad. Single player is scripted, but I enjoyed it. I got 10 bucks worth out of it. Never had trouble shooting friendlies. I don't want you on my team on hardcore online
Edit: I've got $25 worth out of online so far, and I only payed $40, so I just need to salvage $5 more out of it.

I'm so glad I haven't touched a CoD game since World at War. At least that was tolerable in terms of SP and MP. These new "refreshes" are awful to anyone with a critical synapse in their brain.

yes, if anything, the graphics are worse and the system requirements are higher, and the stuttering issue was terrible. However, I liked the story of the game.
I am a dedicated PC gamer, but honestly I wish I had just got this game for the xbox and played it with my friend on his xbox. actually you could even rent the game for the console and finish it before you had to take it back.
Unfortunately, there seems very little reason to game on the PC these days since almost every game is a poorly done console port and would play better on the console. Only blizzard is holding out against consolization, at least for now.

Fair enough, to be fair I've spent most of my time playing it on the 360 and It looks like it on there, maybe not so much on the PC

Black Ops looks awful on PC, the textures are low res and the colors are all a murky gray-ish color. Hideous. I own Modern Warfare 2 on both PC and XBox and the PC version sported phenomenally upscaled textures and overall had a great look. Vibrant colors...etc. Black Ops is just disgusting from a visual perspective, it definitely looks more like Modern Warfare 1 moreso than MW2.

But from a gameplay perspective, Black Ops is the best Call of Duty in a long, long time. Certainly better than any of the Modern Warfares. There are actual real counters now to the overpowered perks. Someone's laming with explosives/noobtubes, you equip Flak Jacket. Someone's abusing claymores, you equip Hacker. They took Stopping Power/Juggernaught out of the game which means you can actually use the other perks instead of always going with one of those two.

Overall, great gameplay when compared to the last four CoD's (CoD2 was the last good one, and CoD1 was by far my fav).

As an aside, I had to disable VSYNC in order to avoid getting headaches with this game. Strange, vsync works great in MW2 and MW1... but in Black Ops there's just something not quite right...

but don't forget you can't edit your classes while you're in a server and now you can't even edit it during the end of round period... so it's not as easy as changing certain perks to counter certain players that piss you off.

Good call, that really bothers me as well. It was nice having that 40 seconds between matches to swap out or buy new weapons/attachments/perks. I do miss that a lot from Modern Warfare 2.

Although on the flip side, the removal of Stopping Power/Juggernaught means I no longer feel at a huge disadvantage if I equip a perk like Flak Jacket, I'm still on even turf in gun battles in that case. I love this, and it's why I don't mind eating up a class slot with a Flak Jacket/Hacker kit because it's a great counter to some of the lame stuff you might run into.

And because there's a counter, noob-tubers no longer bother me.

I started the CoD series with MW1, which was great, and this is by far the best CoD to come out since. I enjoyed WaW, but tired of MW2 very quickly. I really like the changes to perks and killstreaks, the weapons are well balanced, the maps are very well done, hit detection is as good as its ever been. I play on the X360 though, so I haven't had to deal with the framerate issues, various other bugs, and on the 360 the graphics are as good as can be expected. I really don't see the problem with this game. The only legitimate complaint is snipers kind of got shafted (both on changes to sniper mechanics and the fact that most of the maps dont lend themselves well to sniping), but I like that because the sniper fests of the previous games were incredibly boring.

I'm also slightly disappointed with the Zombie maps, the first one for example is way too big, and in "five" i can't find any random gun boxes, which is annoying. Damn you Cod Blops.

Exactly, if it looked as good on my 360 as those screenshots do then I would be in love. I use to love COD on pc then the series went to hell so I sold the gaming rig and bought a 360. At least on console you know it's gonna be a solid game, for some reason the pc version has been getting stripped since cod4.

I swear the last good cod game on pc was cod4, WAW was awful, MW2 was just down right embarrassing and the from the sound of it B Ops isn't doing to hot on pc either.

I love B Ops on 360, the game is so balanced. Noob tubes aren't flying everywhere with one man army, people aren't running around knifing the whole damn match, the perks are alot better and I feel make the game play what it should of been years ago
