Have you tried the new Anti-Tank Tank for the Americanos?

Well the Hellcat is essentially the same as the M10 Wolverine. It has more armor and more speed but less armor penetration. It's a trade off.

Imagine multiple Tigers from multiple directions attacking all at once (I wasn't counting, but it was at least 8 tanks plus VG/infantry. Thank God for the mines laid in advance by my armored cars.

Yeah, I really want to play that. Are there different maps for that gameplay mode?

Oh shit, that's a shame. Why do they neuter the Allies while making the Axis some more powerful?

Wow, playing mulitplayer seems to be a waste. All of the new expansion units basically own anything I can use. I just have the original but may have to pick up one of these expansions so I dont loose all the time.

I was considering getting ToV, but then I read that the tank turret controls weren't being expanded to the rest of the game. So that's a deal-killer for me.

Eh? No base-building? Victory points? Is this like Dawn of War 2 then?

If so, then I am suddenly interested in this game.

Some of the gameplay modes have no base building involved, Panzerkraig, stonewall, to name a few. PK has a base that is nearly indestructible, and instead focuses the competing players in MP to try and capture Victory points while resources stream in steadily.

I think ToV has been a great expansion, instead of just base building we have 3 more types of gameplay. I think we would all benefit for more MP maps for all modes instead of just one each though. It's also been a treat to jump into an assault or stonewall game, win/lose and jump out, I don't always have the time it takes to build up a base and play for an hour +. Anyone have any good strats for stonewall? I have only made it to 12/16 and just end up getting pounded into the ground!

Anyways, I'm pleased with the game.. even the price was acceptable.

Its very short.. really focused on MP instead of SP.

and the crappy part is... the German tanks are extremely OP.. noone wants to play allies as they get pwned every time.

Did you know German tanks get the benefit of yellow/green map cover, but allied tanks don't?

Actually, I believe the M3 quad does, but the Sherman definitely doesn't. No British tank gets any map cover.

Stonewall at this point consists of ..... one whole map !! Woo, that will make the buyers happy !! This is just piss poor IMO, as you release a game with a new play mode, you'd better make sure more than one damn map supports it !! Let's not leave it up to the modders this time. I bought it, played it, and was surprised at how short it actually is. Everyone's comment after buying it is the same, so you have been warned.

If there is any justice in the world, the rumored next game will be out before the end of this year and I can finally get some gravy on my RTS potatoes. I'll just go play some more Stonewall in the meantime

So after playing the Assault mode a few times... it gets old when you can get 3 Heavy inf. Heroes to the side of the enemy's base and just work your way up to the top.. game over in about 10 mins if the other team doesnt sit there and wait for the hero to come bumbling up the treeline. There are definitely some balance issues when everyone I play does it now just to get the victory. I prefer to advance with my AI units and make a good push, but they gave the heroes so much HP that you can solo every bunker just by cruising to the side of it and taking it out in about 7 seconds.

Not the experience I was looking for with that mode.

Played it lastnight vs the computer in skirmish mode. Kind of cool. The Germans Maurder when you sight the turret is deadly to tanks. I will have to play the Americans and British tonight. Hotchkiss with the stuka is nothing more than nebelwerfers on tracks. Which is what the Germans did on the Eastern Front in late 41 early 42 after their stand alone units took heavy casualties and they needed the ability to bring heavy ordinance to seal any breakthroughs quickly.

I felt the hetzer kind of sucked and the JagdPanther was meh. The Panther tanks werent impressive either. Of course it was only two games. But I felt using the Maurder with mortar carts and hotchkiss\stuka with a couple of squads of Grenadiers worked great.

Basically picked off the allied tanks while using my artillery to blast infantry and fortifications.

Bought CoH Gold today at Target... on clearance for $15. Sounds like I should be holding off on ToV until it hits more like $5-$10.

That definitely sounds disappointing. I was an avid CoH player back in the day, I really wanted this to be good.

Where did you hear rumors about that new CoH/Relic game, WT?

From the sounds of it, ToV is DoW2 all over again.

Same company, just a little disappointing in the final product. Pretty much the same reasons too.

They need to get their act together and make a new CoH with the Russians this time and some more fronts. Pacific front wouldn't be bad either.

So far I'm not too impressed with ToV. Campaign is sweet, but way too short, the germans are way overpowered, even more so than they already were. Their new units are much better and more versatile as opposed to the new allied units, which are all but useless except for maybe the kangaroo. This unit is great in theory, but in reality it still doesn't add much to the brits, and cannot effectively deal with superior panzers or blobbed rocket infantry.

There are some nice additions to the allied units like the AT rifles for the brit infantry and the tommy guns for Americans, but these only seem to be available during the campaign and are non existent in classic multilayer mode. Possibly, the new "operations", stonewall, assault and panzerkrieg is where the meat of this new expansion lies, but I haven't got around to it yet. Don't get me wrong, ToV is still nice overall, I guess... But I expected so much more out of it. One of my biggest expectations was a huge boost to the allies which they really need! I was hoping for some sort of unit that can kill stukas quickly and efficiently, EFFECTIVE AT weapons for the brit infantry, and cheaper tanks for the americans. But sadly none of this happened.

You realize that the best ratioed players are not german correct? I really hate when people say that they are overpowered. It really just means you are not very good at American. Look at the ladders for 1v1. Unless there has been a huge change to the game in the last 2 months I guarantee it looks like this:

best ratio: Brit
2nd: American
3rd: German
4th: PE

Generally, I've been disappointed. The new game modes aren't that interesting and there just doesn't seem to be that much content.

With that sad I don't mind supporting a franchise I like. I wish they could have made more improvements to connectivity issues but I'm glad they are trying to patch things. The computer AI, cheating or not, is more of a challenge now for people who like cooperative against the computer.

Second that, the allies are now much more of a challenge. While me and my friend as wermacht and PE could be hard AIs in the old game, now we struggle against standard AI. Don't know why, its like the new game is so much more aggressive in its early expansions, where as in the old one the AI would stop at a few choke points. And also, the PE got horrible new units, as did the British. The allies and the german's new units are nice though.
Stonewall is so much fun, although its hard as the germans since the lack of rangers and the use of crocodile shermans

Yea this is a pretty lousy expansion, its only really worth it if your into CoH in a big way or youve never ever played CoH before.

It definately wouldve been better if they just did an opposing fronts again and stuck in another two factions. Russians and... i dunno, someone else.
