I just bought a new pc today....

-2.6GHz AMD Athlon dc processor
-2GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM
-500GB HD 7200RPM
-Integrated nVIDIA GeForce 6150 with 128 MB dedicated video memory and up to 831 MB Total Available Graphics Memory

...My concern is will the my graphics be able to run Company of Heroes fine. I've heard that this card sucks but is it good enough so I don't have to shell out more money for a really nice card.

I hope you got that PC very very very very cheap. That is a POS machine. You won't be able to play any game from the last several years at anything above the minimum resolution/settings, and anything from the last 2 years you simply will not be able to run.

Hold on there.....

If its an Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.6GHz its fine, if its like an older Barton or whatever than ya its a POS. The integrated will be holding you back most likely, hopefully your machine has a PCI-E slot. I'd spend $100-$150 if your budget conscious and get a 9600GT/8800GT/8800GTS in order of low to high. Check the Hot Deal forums for some nice deals (look for Zotac).

I'm pretty sure it'll be able to run a lot of games. The only thing real bad on it is that I need a new graphics card.

Does the dc on the processor stand for dual core?

Actually, everything is fine except for the absence of a video card.

CoH runs OK for me on a 2.2GHz Athlon X2/2GB RAM and a 7800GT at 1680x1050.
The main issue will be, as others have said, your graphics card, which will really need upgrading.

Alright. Thats just what I figured. I just wanted to make sure that was the only thing. I spent 365 on this machine so I guess I can shell out a few xtra bucks for a nice card. Saw a good deal... XFX GeForce 8800GT 512MB PCI Express Video Card + Company of Heroes Game $145 after $30MIR. So I'm thinking about getting that. Does anyone have a better idea for a good video card thats under that price?

check your power supply size. +12v rail. Your PC might have a smallish powersupply and might need to do a lower powered card like a X3650 or something on that level.

Can I run it?

will check your system specs and let you know where you fall as far as runability....requires a small Java DL to check your system.

Woah, I was literally looking at that like 5 seconds before I came back to this page. From the comments I heard my card won't be able to run the game. So my new question is, does anyone have a suggestion for the best priced video card that can run this. I'm not talking about a 200$ card just something that'll let me play this game good. Or will I need a 200$ card?

You can get a 9600GT for ~$120 after rebates. That will allow you to run COH at 1920x1200 at maximum details.

You probably will need a new power supply as well, the ones included in OEM computers rarely can power a decent discrete GPU.

I play COH (NOT "OF") all the time using a X800XT video card with the settings mostly on high and a few medium settings ~1024x768 with no AA or AF and the game looks GREAT with NO choppiness at all. Rest of the system is 2GBs of RAM and a Pent D925 at 3.4Ghz.

As a matter of fact, it runs just as well using a X800XT, 7800GT and 9600GT.

If you're not using a resolution higher than 1680x1050, look at the hot deals forum for the deal on a 8800GT with 256MB of RAM which is less than $100.00. Or look for an 8800GS (9600 GSO) which has been running for ~$90 shipped (with 384MB RAM) and is quit fast.

Solid choice. There have been some good deals on video card/COD4 combos. And your card should run almost any game at relatively high settings with medium or higher resolutions.

I got a 8800GT (256MBer Alpha Dog Edition) with Lost Planet for $78 shipped. My son likes the game (great eye candy) and the card is GREAT for running just about any game at 1680x1050 resolution or lower plus it OC's REALLY well (and covered under the XFX lifetime warranty to boot). At this resolution and OC'ed, it outperforms a 8800GT 512MBer (at stock clocks).

as for power supply, my 8800gts 512 runs fine with my 375w psb, (dell xps420).

lol, no one in this thread is an 'amd hater.' he asked if his computer will run a game at the current setup, and the clear answer is no. he needs to buy a video card.

Well, a DDR2 AMD setup would have to be at least an Athlon 64 X2 on an nForce 4 or 4xx series motherboard. A used 8800GT or 9600GT for around $100 would make his setup into a formidable gaming rig.

Edit: If you're going for the $200 range, the ATI/AMD HD 4850 is pretty tasty. Performance/watts used can't be beat and performance at that price point is excellent too.
