CoH2, why no footage?

So I am a huge fan of CoH. I still play it a couple times a week and have over 400 hours in total game time (scary to think about that). Mods made this game last a LOT longer and I hope the Devs make more use of the modding community with this one.

Anyway, as we approach the release of CoH2 I am surprised that they don't show more of the game. Any search on YouTube or similar show interview with the devs and VERY limited game-play. This, above all made me shy away from preording the game. I been burned too many times with sequels that had so much promise and never delivered (I am looking at you Supreme Commander 2... sob... !"§$%&/)

So have I simply missed the huge stash of videos somewhere, the reason why this is normal or are the Devs to afraid that people won't love it for the looks.

There is a multiplayer video out right now if you go to the website, shows tons of great footage. The game is currently in alpha and keys were given out over the past 3 days. I got my self a key, although under the NDA I'm unable to share information or post any screens or videos about the game. A beta will start in January and if you sign up for the alpha you might get a key for the beta.

Since you are in the Alpha... how is it? While you can't share any real world stuff you can share your impressions.

I looked and all I see is cut scenes. I don't see an actual game between two people, or one against the computer at least for a few minutes of one.
I have not seen in game menus, how doctrines are handled or the like. Just a lot of talk with cut scenes that explains how great the new system is but never showing any of it other then some infantry dying in the snow because they been away from the fireplace too long (not sure if I like that mechanic!?).

The Multiplayer Trailer is not anything else really. A little voice acting and then a lot of fast cut action that recycle a lot of little footage of what has been shown already. Here and there a new unit or a plane making a strafing run.

For me to pre-order I need to see more and I know quite a few of the people I play with feel the same. This from a huge fan of the game, so I have to think that quite a few people feel the same way.

I'm a pretty big Company of Heroes fan and I agree, I wish there was even 30 seconds of ACTUAL gameplay, like you'd see in one of KrebsCOHO's casts on YouTube.

Despite that, I did pre-order the game because I think it'll be f'ing great regardless.

Pissed I missed the alpha key window. I've Beta'd and owned pretty much every Relic RTS. Love DoW2, but am looking forward to a return (hopefully) to more methodical tactical play.

Same. I am going to pre-order before the end of the year, just not sure I will splurge on the digital collectors edition (80% sure I will at this point). Looks like Steam offers the most for your pre-order.

Fools never preorder any game its far too easy to get burned. Wait until a demo or NDA is lifted and people talk about it or at least some game play videos. These are digitally distributed games there will never be a shortage.

I don't see why people pre-order in the first place, the only way I would pre-order a game is if I got a discount on it, and I knew it was going to be good. Learned my lesson after I pre-ordered Brink and got burned so hard.

Nope. That is my point. All we see is these canned scripted trailers that do nothing but quick action cut it like CoD style game. Little action here, some cool russian accent there and a sprinkle of big explosions. If that is all we see I will not pre-order!

They really need to show the game. I don't know if it plays like vanilla or blitz. I wonder why they are doing this, could be a problem.
