Coke Zero - 2 for $1 @ Target

Personally I find this pretty hard to believe since all the diet stuff in Europe has been using Acesulfame for a while and they still tasted pretty darn diet to me. But then again it's all a matter of whose taste buds are doing the tasting as everyone's sense of taste is rather unique, so something that's delicious to one person can actually taste completely different to another.

More importantly in these Diet colas is how much of the aftertaste you taste...and the different chemicals differ from person to person as far as how sensitive a person is to the aftertaste...

In my case Coke with Splenda and Diet Vanilla Pepsi win hands down over anything else, but as you can see in this thread, people have completely different answers.

Thus, there is in fact, no "best" tasting Diet cola that everyone can agree on...I guess the best thing is that now there's a bazillion formulations of Coke for you to choose from! lol

The way I understood it, Diet Coke was a Diet version of the New Coke formula. Remember that one?

And now Coke Zero is a diet version of Coke Classic.

I think I was reading that off of the coke website forum. I had to research this as after I tasted it, I didn't believe it was diet. It tasted just like real Coke to me. Of course, I've only drank diet cokes for years, so I don't notice aftertaste anymore.

At any rate, for me, it used to be DC w/ Lime, but now I'm Zero all the way.

C2 was never meant to taste like the original Coke (which was subsequently re-named "Coke Classic").

The cheeze-whizzes at Coke were worried that Pepsi was gaining too much market share and conducted taste tests (I believe among Pepsi addicts) and re-formulated with the big bang (really big fizzle) ultimately re-named C2.
