if your talking true CAI (one where you pull true outside air not engine bay air) installed one into a 94 taurus (it was just a fun weekend project made out of spare parts and i found a guide online )....required a bit of maneuvering but for the most part was pretty easy.

I also put an intake kit (Airraid) in my truck (05 dakota) and it was prettymuch just unbolt the old, bolt on the new. Took all of maybe 15 minutes.

No I havent. Doesnt make a whole lot of difference. Just as long as your air comes in from beyond the engine bay (like in front of the radiator) and not inside the hot engine bay, youre good to go. Because unless your injecting nitrous which is truly 'cold', taking out the oem intake and installing a k&n tube that draws in air behind the radiator inside the bay is pointless.

From what i have experienced, only certified rocket scientists should even attempt it, otherwise you will severely damage the flux capacitor.

I did this to my flux capacitor and now my time machine is 5 minutes slow.

I put one in my Maxima, it was a pain. Had to cut a 6 inch hole in the inner fender. Good times.

Probably the most simple mod you can do, especially if it's a kit CAI made for the vehicle.

the only trouble you might have is the inner fender cutting. which the instructions will clearly indicate you do anyway.

I used some shears. lined it with weather stripping so that it does not cut the pipe with vibrations.

10 minute job though

I installed one in my Civic, bought the pipes that were molded specifically for my model on eBay, and got a K&N filter for it. It was a little tricky but things worked out.

It's one of the easiest upgrades for cars, but really doesn't make much of a difference unless you do the other breather mods (full exhaust and header); some cars are easier than others, like early Hondas. Some can be a pain (certain Subarus, IIRC have a ridiculous airbox construction).

Makes a nice sound though.
