Can anyone give me the lowdown on them? I'm interested in putting them in my PC to give it some flair.

LOL Yeah really. They light up your case and come in different colors. What else is there to say?

There's nothing much to them, its just a long tube that emits light. Mine does emit a tiny bit of heat, but it's negligible. You can get some that have a PCI bracket that contains an on/off switch, this is very convenient but adds even more cable clutter if you're obsessed with stuff like that. In case you were wondering, they just plug into the 4 pin molex connecters.

Light-grade velcro works too. I've seen them in 4 and 12 inch lengths, and 1 or 2-tube configurations. Depending on the way your case is wired and what FRU's you have you might have to re-wire a bit to avoid the signal noise that some of them generate.

I have 3- 12inch in my case, they do and a little cludder and some of my friends think Im retarded but I think they are cool. I use velcro, and they dont run hot at all.

I run my cathode's wires under my motherboard to the PSU.

I mount the lights on the bottom of the case with velcro, sleeve the wires behind the 3 1/2 cage and mount the inverters on the back side of the same, route wires to a front controller either bought or made from an old 5 1/4' blank faceplate with the switches cut in. Haven't done one in a while, if you are patient, you can do it cleanly. Last one I did I used spiral black small diameter sleeve from Walmart and it's not even visible. The black works great when you are lighting or highlighting other parts since you don't really see the colored wires.
