cold cathode tube temps

im thinking to get cold cathode tubes in my computer to light it up more, but i wanted to know if those things get hot at all. will it increase case temps? cuz if so, i wont bother and ill be satisfied with my laser led lights instead. ide rather have a cooler comp temperature wise then a cooler comp light wise hehe.

my Vantec UV cathodes get barely warm to the touch.

I would hazard to guess if the case temp even does increase, it is no more than 1C... as long as you have some sort of active cooling (Intake/exhaust) you will have zero worries.

I personally much prefer the softness of the light the cathodes put out, over anything else.

they shouldn't really raise temps much at all if any. they are obviously built to produce minimal heat so that you dont heat up your case when you purchase them.

thanx guys, u made up my decisions. im gonna get em. any suggestions as to which ones i should get or what good combo of light? i know i def want one uv tube. two 12" tubes should be more then enough or is just 1 12" enough?

do you guys recommend sunbeam or logisys? theres a logisys dual uv 12" but i think i might want one 12" uv stick and one 12" blue stick. would that one uv stick be enough to light up all the uv stuff in my comp? thanx.

definitely recommend logisys. I have the dual 12inch blue tubes and they are bright.with my side panel off they can light up my whole desk and some of the wall.

and i have reason to believe sunbeam and logisys are the same company. their packaging is almost EXACTLY the same. i can take pictures of em if you want because they are so damn silimar, i think that they HAVE to be the same company or someone copied the carp out of the other company. their parts and everything is exactly the same aswell. i think its safe to assume. they are the same damn company.

o, and btw, i routed the wires outside the case and stuck the inverter on the back of the outside of the case so it wont increase case temps and clutter up the case/airflow. that inverter can get pretty hot. im glad i was about to route it out.
