Just got this in the mail, too bad I just bought one for 22 elsewhere.

If the cathode is manufactured by pc mods.com, then it is hot. Most of the other cathodes don't compare to the pcmods cathodes from all the reviews.

since it's 12" with mounting hardware and a round switch I'm guessing that it's the bitspower one seen here.

I know the co-owner of PC Mods who operates the outlet here in Melbourne, these cathodes don't look like the ones from PC Mods.

You might as well get the cold cathode lights at Sidewidercomputers.com.

I love SVC. I think their great. But you gotta shop around and see what's the BEST value instead of the best PRICE.

I love SVC. I think their great. But you gotta shop around and see what's the BEST value instead of the best PRICE.

If you think about it, 15000 hours is like leaving the cold cathode on for 2 years straight...and i doubt that anyone is really gonna compete with that. Who really uses the cold cathode every day, for more than a few hours a day (during the daytime is useless, sorta).

I think this is a good deal!

yeah seriously lol, i mean, if it was on 8 hours a day it would last like 3 years, but i would only use mine 8 hours like once a month at LAN parties and stuff.

That's the EXACT same kit that SVC sells. Trust me. I sell it too and its EXACTLY down to the last wire the same. No way in hell is is brighter. 50000 hours life expectancy, that depends on who you ask. It may last that long or burn out in 20 seconds. Its a 15 dollar part, don't sweat on how long its going to last. Buy 2 at $15 or buy 1 at $30...hrmm..which is a hotter deal..

yep its the exact same one from sidewinder computers. EXACTYLY the same. how do i know? i got mine yesterday (bought it at 24.99 price =\ ) very nice and very bright. HOT deal at $14.99, gonna pick me up another one.

Actually, I splurged and went with the 3 day shipping. Total came out to $33.30. Total for Priority, First Class, and UPS Ground all came out under $30, but $3 extra to get everything sooner was just too little to pass up.

Even if the cathode only lasts 14 months (slightly over 10,000 hours), it's still a pretty sweet deal.

Go to pcmods.com, look at the cathodes, there are 5 or 6 links to tests done, one by virtual hideout. I did buy one at SVC to see how it compares to PCmods, but it would be much easier if I knew the manufacturer SVC is using.

I just ordered one of these from SVC to replace a broken one I had previously. Its a good buy for the price. It might be just a tad less bright than my previous one, but so close, I can't really tell. It came with everything...rocker switch, inverter, power connectors, velcro, etc.

We'll see how long it lasts, but so far I'm quite pleased with it.
