Here. @ ZipZoomFly

This seems to be a great buy, Antec is a quality brand, 500w with two very powerful 12v rails for 50 after $12 MIR is great!!

If you need a mid to high end PSU, or simply a cheap backup, this is for you.

EDIT: MIR expires 3/13, and free FedEx 2nd day!!

You know you are a geek when you seriously contemplate buying a power supply without a computer to put it in!

We bought 3 of these for some new workstations at my office. I gotta say I'm very pleased and will probably be getting one of these whenever I build my new computer. Quality construction, modular cables (and plenty of them), and a good high power output as well.

Very nice! I just picked one up & don't really need it either. lol

Great to have around when someone asks for a good PSU & I've already got one on hand. Thanks OP.

..Damn.. I bought the one for 63.99 @ newegg less than a week ago.. Why I didn't check ZZF at that time, as MIR started on 3/1/06. Darn..

Newegg people seem to like them.

EDT: You are asking about a case, sorry. I thought you were asking about reviews. It will do fine with most cases.

No big issues with my SP 500 in a Antec P180. The only minor problem I had was with the FDD power connectors. The DFI Lan party boards have a seperate power plug for a FDD and the SP 500 comes with a single molex splitter to two FDD plugs. It was a bit of a stretch to get one end in the mobo and the other end in my FDD/mem card reader. I fixed this by getting a $.99 FDD extender from fry's.

Rails are rock solid powering my Opteron 165 @ 2.52ghz, eVGA 7800GT, 2 DVD burners, 250GB SATA, 4 120mm fans, etc...

Another awesome thing about this psu and the Antec case is the fan design. It uses dual 80mm fans, one on each end of the PSU. This does a great job pulling air through the lower compartment cooling my HDD. Also I have never had the outer fan on the psu turn on (it is thermally controlled) and the inner fan is silent so the PSU makes no noise at all, a very nice plus!

Cool, thanks for the insight.

Forgot to mention I planned on using it with a Lanparty Ultra-D, that might've helped. Just wanted to make sure there were no big cable length issues.

About to pull the trigger on a Ultra-D, Opty 165, and 7900GT from Monarch. P180 is gonna be my case but I want silent and efficient so I'm torn between this SP500 and the Neo HE 430 for a little bit more.

I need a psu but I don't think I'll need 500W any time soon. How much power is "wasted" by getting a psu with more power than you need? I pretty much leavee my PC on all day.

I could get the Fortron AX400-PN from newegg for $40+ship. Only 18A and 16A on the 12V rails. But probably don't need more than that for 1 PCIe, 1 HD, and maybe 1 optical. What to do?

Well, the amount of power wasted by leaving the PC on is dictated by the efficiency and whether it has an active PFC or not. This has an efficiency of 70%, which is normal for this price range. In fact, this is probably the best PSU for $50 anywhere. So it will be less efficient than my $110 Enermax, but then, it is a great price. It would take a while for the $110 PSU to make up $60 of electricity, even running 24/7. Hope this helps.

Great PSU. It'll handle any gaming system short of SLI. My Antec 500w crapped out in early January, but they was willing to cross ship me a replacement. Great customer service!

I just bought a Fortron AX450PN http://tinyurl.com/daebz which works fine but is a bit noisier than the Antec 300w supply it replaced. Anyone know if this Antec is any quieter than the Fortron? I'm gonna have to jump on this one pretty quick in order to get the $12 MIR.

I could probably use another PS anyway. I need to upgrade another old PC.

I run a SP 500 and i love it I have the lanparty/opteron OCed/raptor/6800GT does great 12v rail stays OVER 12v at all times from what I have seen. x100 better than that Ultra garbage. This is a HOT deal.

If you have alot of time the lanparty is great but if you are a OC n00b, impatient or have little time don't get a Lanparty too many options and it is a PITA. IMHO

I'm impatient

OOS. And cannot order OOS items at ZZF, so no rebate unless it comes in tomorrow.
