OP pays Google anytime someone goes to his site from a Google search/ad. Does the site that displays the link or ad get a cut of the money too?

Yes, that is how the partner system works I believe.

OP pays Google when his ad is clicked. Google partner gets a small cut of that fee and Google gets a bigger cut.

traditional click fraud happens when competitors of the site will send clicks to the website to drive up thier advertising costs - potentially putting them out of business.

Actually the Google partner gets 70% and Google gets 30%.

It just so happens that they clicks they send you, in your personal experience, are not garnering buys.

But the ratios are so far off as to be ludicrous. We're tracking clicks on a link - meaning they are supposedly interested enough to make the effort to click a link. We're getting a sale ratio of .1% vs aol 21%, 13% google. Inconsistent to the point of insanity.

How could this be fraudulent? You agreed to join the program and google agreed to send you clicks.

That's why I'm not claiming fraud, only implying fraud or mismanagement. The trouble is that it's an all or nothing deal - there SHOULD be options to say where these are displayed, but there isn't.

Oh, and this is how trying to contact them went:
--wait for an hour to chat--
--chat with a monkey who can't tell you ANYTHING, and tells me as much--
--"We'll have someone call you in the next 5 business days" --
-- CLICK - disconnects the chat--

Not knowing how googles system works, could you block links from those unwanted sites from your website - or would the click count regardless?

Yeah, it counts regardless of whether or not we accept the traffic - it's registered before they even get to our site.

Have your lawyer write a letter explaining the problem, the resolution you are seeking, and the measures you're willing to take if the problem continues. Send it via certified mail to your Google account manager, with carbon-copies going to Google's CEO and your state's Attorney General.

This may be the next step...I'm already in dialog with a lawyer.

Why don't you just block your ads from being seen on their site. Log into your Adwords account and select "Tools" from the "Campaign Summary" tab and then click on "Site exclusion" and just enter the sites you don't want your ads shown on.

That's AdSense, not AdWords (or vice versa). We've been over that and the option only exists to exclude on one, not the other (the one that is screwing us). And the domains that are getting tons of clicks but no sales change every month.

It's an option in both Adsense (for publishers) and Adword (for advertisers). In adsense it's called Competitive ad filter.

If you don't believe me than check out these pics: adwords and adsense

Oh, and I forgot a hilarious thing - we have had hundreds of clicks from porn websites - go figure, as we're a Catholic Dating service...

With a $150k budget, you should be able to put a bullet in the heads of the owners of the top 4 offending domains and have cash left over.

Is this with AdSense? Our company turned off adsense because of click fraud.

The $90 million translates into less than 1 percent of Google's $11.2 billion in revenue during the past four years.

LOL, what a joke. That's like me giving change to the guy on the street. Google owns you dude. Lawyer up.
