I am wondering what is the best way to share documents and edit simultaneously with Office 2016.
I have a team using a shared OneDrive folder. We each have OneDrive synchronizing to a local folder on a computer, and Office 2016 installed.
When someones opens an Office file in shared OneDrive folder on his computer, that causes the file to be "locked for editing", so that others opening the same file have read-only access. We have tried this with PowerPoint and Excel.
What we want is to be able to edit at the same time and see others' edits.
Do we still need to share the file from the sharing tab, even though we all have access to it already by sharing the OneDrive folder the file is in?
Thanks for any advice.
