Actually, everything is in boxes right now. I just started preparing to paint over the rather hideous wood paneling spur of the moment. I'll try and remember to get a picture once it's back together.

While I was in the Navy I had these up on my barracks room wall:

During that time it wasn't practical to keep game boxes with me anymore, but here's a pic I took some years ago of most of my boxes at that time (some are behind the ones you can see though)

most of my old stuff is probably holed up in my dad's house and not with me.

my brother and i have saved all of our cartridges and boxes from the NES/SNES days. i managed to save a few of my favorite PSone games. i also have a number of old strategy guides. believe he has all of this in his apt/storage.

motsm I was curious, how much did you know about those games before you got the collector's editions, as in, were there any times you got the collector's edition for a game that wasn't part of a series you already liked or something, and ended up not actually liking it enough to justify having done so?

I stll have the Baldur's Gate 2 and Icewind Dale 2 Collector's editions at homw. You know those huge boxes they sold a long time ago with collector's in-game stuff, cloth maps and dice?

It was $100 with shipping to get those home in QC, Canada but oh so worth it!

I've got a backlog of games like a lot of people here, so I'm in no hurry when I know I can pick up what I want on ebay, Amazon or even GameTZ, so I'll normally wait until I can judge a game properly. I did however pledge for the Wasteland 2 Big Box, as I figured it might be pretty hard to find later. The Elemental CE I just came across super cheap, and picked it up figuring I'd have it sit on my shelf as I played Fallen Enchantress instead.

It looks like you have (had?) quite the collection as well. I wouldn't mind plucking a few things out of that pile to be honest.

Does anyone remember if the first Baldur's Gate was shrink wrapped or sticky tabbed? Grabbed a new, sealed BG1 off of eBay today but it's sticky tabbed and makes me wonder if that's right...

Thats right.... sticky tabbed only. I just ran into mine last night I broke the tab to check out the disk but never installed it. So mine is mint with the tab broke, I should ebay it.

I have a big box of "boxes and manuals" in the basement I have to go through..... have to be 60+ and the disks are in the computer room. Maybe I have some worth something I'll have to check into it when I get some time.
