They don't really play that much, the last time over 5 years ago, so that stat is really more of a curiosity. Oregon never really delivers in the big games, just like Oklahoma. Part of it seems to be they always look undersized. I've seen Stanford, UCLA, USC, UW and AZ play this year, and by far Oregon is the smallest team. Both title games, the other team just ran them over.

And OMG, how good is OSU gonna be next year. Their QB is gonna be a stud. They had 5 TO and it didn't even really matter. I started watching in the second quarter, and the game was never really in doubt.

which QB?

Braxton Miller the starting QB, 2 time B1G offensive MVP, who they lost to injury before the season?

JT Barrett, the freshman who was in Heisman contention before breaking his ankle the last game of the regular season?

Cardale Jones who is 3-0 in his 3 starts, all of them playoff games...?

Ezekiel went biblical on their ass.

I was thinking that Devin Smith was going to have a huge game, but Ezekiel was just too good. And CAR-DALE Jones baby.

Three games in a row against the Heisman finalists.

Wishbone offense.

Miller taking snaps, Jones to the right, Barret to the left. Ez in the back.

Grats to OSU. Zeke is a monster and Urban Meyer has major balls for attempting those 4th down conversions.

Didn't think they'd beat Alabama and had doubts about Oregon. Amazing win considering they lost 4 fumbles.

Cardale Jones. I think Miller is transferring to FSU. Barrett should think about leaving as well. Jones is so good from the pocket. You hardly see a college QB that accurate down the field. And he isn't the fastest guy, but good luck getting him down before he gets his yards. He's kinda like what Tebow should have been.

lol yeah

can't help but think one of them is going to be gone tho, probably Miller, his glory days look limited to CFB and doesn't look like he'll really have a place in the NFL unless he's willing to change his position

Jones could probably remain a backup QB and still end up in the NFL because he simply has the build for it.

Honestly, Barrett has been the best OSU QB I have ever seen under center ever since I've started watching them, that dude really is the complete package, whereas Cardale Jones is too much of a one-trick pony, reminding me more of a JaMarcus Russell relying a bit too much on arm strength and the deep ball. Sure, he was pretty fucking clutch on 3rd and 4th downs, the difference is that JT doesn't need to make the clutch 3rd and long conversions because he can pick a defense apart and prevent the long 3rd downs if not the down entirely by getting first down throws/runs on 1st or 2nd.

Keys to the game:

Cardale was a load for the OSU Offense.

4th down conversions were huge for OSU.

The turnovers were huge for Oregon, and it looked really good for Oregon early on.

OSU's defense really stepped up late.

Zeke. ZEKE.

I didn't watch OSU play at all this year, but if Barrett played better than Jones did the last 3 games OSU is gonna be tough to beat. Michigan probably won't be ready to rival them for a couple years.

Many thanks to Tom Herman, and good luck in Houston. Great job on the offense the last 4 years.

I dunno, Barrett is hands down the better QB though, dude was keeping up with Mariota in the Heisman race before getting injured. Jones does have the prototypical/ideal body for an NFL QB though, however he has very little touch to his passes and his runs are mostly effectively when he can overpower a single man, whereas Barrett/Miller can make people miss.

Overall running ability
Miller > JT > Jones

Overall passing ability
JT >>> Jones > Miller

Jones' best attribute as a QB is his size makes him nearly impossible to tackle one on one if he's ready for it, however JT and Miller are far more elusive, the former also being smarter/quicker with his decision making.

Where Jones shines is that his cannon arm deep ball is an extremely good compliment to the short game with Elliot. The problem is that if OSU hadn't been able to get a good ground game going with Elliot they probably would have been fucked if they had to put the entire load on Jones' shoulders, whereas Miller and Barrett are capable of putting the offense almost completely on their shoulders.

That being said, I'm not saying Jones couldn't get there to where he could be a star, but he's still behind those two as a CFB QB in my book, particularly under Meyer's offense.

yeah, the biggest difference was Elliot exploding for 200+ yards in these 3 games; there were games where JT Barrett had to do most of the heavy lifting and was the clear star of the game, whereas' Jones' best game was the 59-0 blowout vs. Wisconsin where he was just another spoke in the rape wheel that was OSU, not the axle.

I think the starting job come fall will go to JT.

Miller won't play spring ball. Shoulder was injured a 2nd time. If he stays at OSU, he won't be back in true form. He will get some snaps because he's a senior, but i think JT leads the team.

even if Miller is 100% healthy come spring I think its JT's job to lose

after all, JT stands for Juggernaut Terminator

just look at him...

running the ball:

throwing the ball:

sitting down:

getting carted out after limb malfunction:

I'm hoping the best for Braxton Miller, but I don't think his shoulder is going to come back.
