Glad I didn't waste staying up to watch the game. Besides the retarded late ass start time oregon had lost too many key players over the last couple weeks to continually overcome.

Not sure how you guys watch this stuff, it's awful looking football. I made it to the end of the first quarter. Won a bunch of money on first half and full game unders though, so thanks OSU! :awe:

I didn't think any of those 4th down conversions were that gutsy by Urban.
He knew he had the push at the line and all but one were in the normal "go for it on 4th" part of the field.

What amazes me is that OSU won with a 4-0 turnover ratio! (I don't count Oregon's last minute turnover)

Oregon's defense was just dominated and demoralized from the second quarter on.
A dominating run game absolutely controlled the game, but Cardale had some amazing plays to keep their offense on the field.

Cardale's size and athleticism also won the night. He had multiple scrambles for first down that very few other college players could make. The bull rush into the nose tackle was a perfect example, as well as the run outside and leap over the defender. He reminds me of Tebow, but with a huge accurate arm.

Oh yeah... O-H

I love Oregon as a team, but that's twice I've watched them completely shit the bed in a National Championship Game. Ugh. People are going to blame the defense (and that's somewhat deserved given their complete inability to shut down Ezekiel Elliott), but they forced 4 turnovers that the Duck offense turned into 10 points... That's not going to win you many games.

Great game by Ohio State though. Elliott is such a beast.

No, they forced 1 turnover. The other 3 were gimmes.

During the year, I saw Oregon highlights and scores, but never really watched them play. Leading up to the big game I looked at Oregon's defensive stats and was amazed at how bad they were against both the run and the pass. The only impressive stat was turnovers. Yet late in the season they were holding people to low scores. Just didn't seem legit to me. No smoke and mirrors with OSU, very solid everywhere with some real pro talent sprinkled around at some positions
I couldn't see a way for OSU to lose to them. Wisconsin and Alabama had good rush defenses and OSU steamrolled them on the ground.

lol, yes, speaking of steamrolled. Cardale's hit on that nose guard was awesome.

Ha. I love this football. I honestly don't enjoy watching Pro ball, not when I have this. They can be sloppy, games can be played very differently and running is far more of a threat, and they can be college kids, that is just an awesome package imho.

This is like the best week for football ever. Packers win, Dallas loses, Denver loses, Dallas loses, and now the Big 10 wins!

And Dallas loses! Feels great typing that! Dallas loses, Dallas loses, Dallas loses!!!

Cardale Jones. I think Miller is transferring to FSU. Barrett should think about leaving as well. Jones is so good from the pocket. You hardly see a college QB that accurate down the field. And he isn't the fastest guy, but good luck getting him down before he gets his yards. He's kinda like what Tebow should have been.

Yeah, he's Tim Tebow with an NFL calibre arm who can pass down the field, instead of relying on Aaron Hernandez and Percy Harvin to gain yards after the catch.

Congrats to the ohio state buckeyes, well deserved. They destroyed Wisconsin, Bama and now Oregon.

I'm not surprised that the Buckeyes were able to run effectively against Oregon, but I'm shocked they were able to absolutely steamroll Alabama, Wisconsin and Oregon's defense to the tune of 300 rushing yards on each of them. Amazing.

Though most of the accolades seem to go to Jones and Eliot, the real heroes for OSU are the offensive linemen -- they've been absolutely fantastic over the past few games, opening massive holes for the RB and buying time for the QB to throw from a clean pocket.

Think of how many of these games we missed out on over the decades because of the bowl setup and then the BCS. Under the BCS, we would have gotten Alabama versus Florida State, and the best team would not have played at all.

ESPN radio this morning was making a good case for Cardale to go pro.

He's got a 6 month old kid, he's riding an amazing 3-0 streak and could be on the bench next year. I can't really disagree with them when they say he should take the money. Even if he only goes 4th or 5th round. It's money in the bank.

I was sort of rooting for the ducks only b/c they had never won a national champ, but boy did OSU deserve this one. Domination on both sides of the line. To the point of boredom sadly, but well deserved win by OSU

Jones definitely played well and did a fantastic job considering he just started his first three games. I still don't think people should overreact to this though. If Eliot wasn't running for 200+ yards every game, Jones would look a lot more pedestrian. I'd hold off on the NFL talk for Jones for a while until we get to see more of Cardale Jones.

Heh, it's all good. I prefer college hoops to the NBA, so I totally get where you are coming from. As a huge NFL fan though, I found it hard to watch that game last night.

Overreact to what? They weren't saying he's a first rounder. They said he is SAFELY a 4th or 5th rounder and that he should take the money to be on the safe side.

No, I get that, I'm just saying people overreacting to his performance in these three games to say that he's a stud QB and going to be in the NFL and such.

I also prefer the NFL but I don't know why you found it hard to watch. It was a back and forth game for 3 quarters before OSU ran away with it.

You had an epic running performance from Elliot and while Mariota wasn't as good as I was expecting he still had over 300 yards passing and two TDs. And watching a 3rd string QB keep his poise and deliver a solid performance was impressive.

It was better than 3 out of the 4 NFL Wildcard weekend games for sure

This. The o-line has really held up, and coupled with Jones' pocket presence/patience, there's a real force there.

I can understand the Jones going pro conversation. He won't be in any better position to go pro 12 months from now (worse, actually), so why wait? Go out on a high note and collect sooner rather than later.

Agreed. Cash in now while you have the chance. Picking a QB is such a gamble anyway. There have been a lot of failures in recent years in the NFL with QBs that had great college careers like *cough* Leinart *cough* Pryor *cough* Tebow *cough* and more potential failures that you can see coming in Manziel, McCarron and many others. So why not take a chance with a guy that has only 3 games under his belt?

uhh, the point was if he left now he WOULD be in the NFL.

He should hit the NFL now while the getting's good...it won't take a lobotomized monkey very long to peel back enough layers of the onion to find that Cardale Jones spent basically no time in class. He's, more than likely, academically ineligible.

I'm no Oregon fan either...just stating the obvious. Listen to Jones, look at his demeanor, his now-infamous tweet. Also, remember this is Urban Meyer we're talking about here...he doesn't have the cleanest past behind him and has been known to blatantly look the other way and obfuscate information when needed.

Couple of concerns on Cardale's resume would be lack of playing at the NCAA level (not a big deal for some guys), maturity (another Jameis here??), and intelligence...methinks his wonderlic will probably be less than his shoe size.
