I'd like to see the ACC redeem themselves this year. It's getting kind of annoying to have an SEC team win it every year.

People are giving Virginia Tech too much credit, and I go to Virginia Tech. We won the ACC & Orange Bowl because the ACC was killing themselves, not particularly because we were any good. Our offense was ranked nearly dead last (I think somewhere in the 110 range, and there are what, 120 teams?), All our "skill" positions are still only sophomores or true freshmen (since Darren Evans is out for the season), Tyrod is injury-prone and we have no one to really back him up this time, and I STILL won't believe he can actually throw the ball until I actually see it in a game (his passing stats were abyssal last year).

At least we'll find out really early with the Alabama game Sept. 5

Edit: We'll still probably win the ACC due entirely to our defense.

Too much credit? The only thing they really lost of any consequence is the offensive line. We still have our best one too. Oklahoma for the past 5 years has always been able to pass block. We have 2 heisman candidates, plus a tight end who is freak of nature.

Our defense is going to be a beast this year too.

Many people are predicting a rematch of last years NCG.

I'm one of those horrible "commie pinkos" who believes that if colleges would take the millions of $$ they piss away on football and other athletic programs and put it into academics, our nation would be far better prepared.

Yeah, I know...without football scholarships lots of people wouldn't be able to go to college...:roll: BUT, college should be about edumakation, not muscles...(or about the muscle between your ears)

I'm NOT anti-sports...but IMO, college sports programs are a huge waste of $$$.
