I am in high school and I am so sick of going to parties and everyone getting kicked out because of too many people or something insignificant going wrong. I am sick of worrying about the cops and everybody's parents. Does all of this end in college? Are parties much better?

About the same (the women are much better). Only thing is you now get charged as an adult when arrested.

If you're smart, and know what parties to go to, you won't have to worry about the cops

Torch a couple of cars and the cop will show up no matter what. I filed that under lesson learned.

Yes, they are better. But you still worry about the cops (probably more so) until you reach that magical age (21 ). Just don't expect Hollywood style college parties and you'll be happy enough (although those do happen every once in a while )

My college sends undercover cops to parties now to break them up. So now when we throw parties we ask everyone if they are a cop before letting them in

It's so nice to be over 21.

He're the trick if the cops do show. It can mean the difference between a simple "keep the music down" and the need to make a hasty getaway. If you open the door to the police and they see illegal activity (underage drinking, "nose candy," "smoke," too many people, fire hazard), then they are allowed to go in. No matter what, open the door a crack. Always have 5 or 6 guys because the cop will be trying his darndest to get that door open. Once had 2 cops leaning on the door to open it and we had 4 guys behind it holding the door back.

for a quick reference, please refer to parties in American Pie (high school), and American Pie 2 (college). =)

In a case like that, cops can generally cite a reasonable suspicion and gain entry. If you're holding the door shut, you can be cited for obstruction of justice, I believe.

Haha, I love that. Undercover cops can't say they aren't cops if asked. That's the trick when scalping tickets...

i remember the HS parties...

now i go to college in a one cop town ... parties are much better here.. the girls are less stuck up (they actually talk to me here). but i always enjoy going back home and crashing a HS party, drinking their booz and looking at all the slutty looking HS girls.

you've probably heard this a millions times, but, college is sooo much better, you have no idea.

Are you sure about that? I've watched enough prostitution stings on "Cops" on Fox to know that isn't always the case.

Oh yeah. Sure. "Watched it on Cops".
Did they ask if the prostitute was a cop? It may vary - they may need some judge approval not to disclose that they are police. Also, if it's one undercover cop pretending to be a prostitute, that person may be in danger and it would be not be advantageous to disclose that he/she is a prostitute so it could be an issue of safety.

if you listen closely, they quickly change the subject or make a comment like "you ACTUALLY think i'm a cop????". They intentionally avoid the question by giving a vague answer.

No, cops cannot enter your house without seeing anything inside, or without a search warrant. If they see the drinking going on then they can come in and book people, but if they can't, they need a search warrant.

Don't go to random parties - go to parties thrown by and for friends Usually these don't get too big, but sometimes the male-female or female-male ratio is very unfavorable. Probably about 10-12 guys, 2-3 girls, or i've seen the opposite (girl friends have 10-12 girls, 2-3 guys... who are bf's of the girls anyways)

as mentioned above, they're not allowed to lie and say they're not a cop.

It's called entrapment. If you ask a cop if they're a law enforcement officer or working with a law enforcement agency, they have to say yes. If they don't, then they can't use that information in a trial.
