Hey guys, after this summer I'll be heading off to college, and I was wondering what your opinions on laptops are. Is a laptop a necesity? For a while, I was planning on picking up a laptop, and after talking to a few people, they said their laptop is hardly used as a portable. It basically sits as a desktop system. For those of you in college, is a laptop a good thing to have? Will I be better served by a desktop? Please let me know what you think, and whether you think it is worth it to sacrifice desktop performance for portability in a college setting.
Thanks,
John
EDIT:
Lets derail this thread a bit, as its pretty clear that the laptop is NOT the way to go.
What do you think is the best way to secure a SFF system and a LCD? Shuttle sells something...
Thanks,
John
