Also, look at your student id... the black strip on teh back of teh card is just cosmetic. the real magnetic part is a 3cm wide x 2cm tall chunk inside the card. look for it right under the hologram type thing. if your card is worn down, you can see it easily.

Hrm, i was told that the first 2 digits are when you enrolled and teh rest is a derivation from other things including your ssn. Maybe i'm misinformed.no, it's not. the first part is the year you enrolled, the second part comes from the order in which enrollments are processed.
and uh... what hologram thing? or did they come out with new cards....
