What colleges should I look into? I am senior now, and applying to schools right now. I'd like to apply to at least one out of state and I am trying to decide where I should apply. The total cost per year needs to be ~15k or less though. Preferably a school "out west". Thanks for any reccomendations.

Party school or do you want to learn something? Interested in any particular fields, or just looking for a good paycheck?

A little bit of both, leaning towards learning something. Biology/science, and paycheck isn't that important as I will probably go to grad school.

Cowboy boots, chaps and a horse are prerequisites to admittance to any reputable school West of the Rio Grande, Pard. Can you measure up?

Montana State University has a pretty good science department. University of Montana has a good bio dept. Both are around 15k for out of staters, I think. Don't quote me on it. If you want to party, you won't have a problem finding it at either, UM being the bigger party school. Oh, and UM has a DAMN good football team, pretty much the best 1AA team. I miss home, but couldn't pass up going to Georgia Tech. Montana is beautiful. Lakes, hiking, camping in summer; skiing/snowboarding in the winter.

Forgot to mention, Missoula is pretty liberal. Bozeman is more conservative. You can tell Missoula is a college town. Colorado State is another good science/eng school, almost forgot about there. That was my second choice.

Pros/cons?

I know someone that goes there. Pros are cheap tuition, hotties everywhere.

Cons: traffic, too many overcrowded classes.

Typical Californian... j/k, my Grandma and some other extended family live in Cali. There is a reason they call Montana the last best place. Its so nice not having to deal with horrible traffic in the morning, major crime, etc. All the major cities have cable/DSL just as fast as a big city, if not faster due to fewer users on each circuit. I can (when i'm home) actually see a sky full of stars at night, definately can't while i'm at school in Atlanta. Other benefits are low cost of living, no sales tax, etc etc.

Don't diss Riverside! I'll probably end up there.

Anyway, Irvine is considered the mean college of UC. As in, it's not good or bad. But just average.
