Marriage as currently constructed does not promote monogamy. The current marriage system in America is basically to spend your 20s screwing everything that moves, then when you get tired of that settle down for a few years and then get divorced.

Also, ever hear of an open marriage. Something even "conservative" Newt Gingrich endorses.

Of course if you go back to the old school sex before marriage being wrong and divorce being frowned upon. Yeah that would promote monogamy.

Basically the question is do you think that people who spend years banging anything that moves currently will suddenly decide they want to have monogamous relationships because same-sex marriage is legal?

Got it. So you understand monogamous relationships about as well as you do gay ones or women on general.

I can't answer your question because it only applies to the twisted stereotypes of gays and women you carry around in your head.

So why don't we let homosexuals in committed monogamous relationships, married in their church have their civil an legal rights as a married couple that constitution basically says they get.

(1) Why if they are "married" in a church should that have any impact on whether the government recognizes their relationship. Are you saying the government should recognize religious ceremonies?

(2) No where in the constitution does it say there is a right to same-sex marriage.

I have no problem with what nehalem is saying, he's dead on.

Oh, and op, I can find transcripts of crazy people saying anything you can possibly think of, 99.999999% of the population are smarter than this guy.

Freedom of speech: I'm getting married to express that I love ass pounding so much that I'll even pound guys in the ass.

You are allowed to say any crazy thing you want.

The government is not required to recognize it as true.

You have a pretty absurd definition of freedom of speech there. I guess it just demonstrates the absurd lengths people have to go to claim same-sex marriage is a "right".

I don't really follow why his reasoning has anything to do with gay marriage, I think he should be working to bring back their anti-sodomy laws instead.

And if you allow sodomites to marry each other how do you bring back sodomy laws?

Well, Virginia's anti-sodomy law was just struck down yesterday: http://www.theatlanticwire.com/national/2013/03/anti-sodomy-law-virginia/63069/

FYI, as it says in the article sodomy is only illegal if you're gay in Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. That's an even worse abuse of one's rights than anti-sodomy laws in general.

Do you have the right to play Pinochle on Saturdays in your own house? Where does it say that I'm the constitution?

You have the right to play Pinochle on saturdays in your own house.

You do not have the right to force the government to grant recognition your playing Pinochle and crown a Saturday Champion.

See the difference?

EDIT: Right to privacy. Playing Pinochle in your house is a private activity. Demanding that the government crown a champion is not a private activity.

Have I argued that?

Why are you arguing against imaginary opponents? Can't argue against the real ones?

Where does the Constitution say you have the right to eat bananas?

So are straight people who participate in Anal Sex banned too?

What about people who like Fecal play during sex?
Anal prolapse?
Footjobs?
Semen swapping?
Piss?

etc?

All of that sounds disgusting to me. But who is ejaculating in who's ass or who is shitting on who in the bedroom is none of my business.

You never heard of illegal search and seizures? Or the right to privacy?

What are you having a problem comprehending? There cannot be an inherent right to government recognized marriage. You are free to get married in your own church, and the government is free not to recognize it.

But the idea that you have a right for the government to recognize your relationship is ridiculous and cannot be justified on any grounds.

My wife enjoys sodomy and we both enjoy oral sodomy, I guess we shouldn't have been allowed to marry? Or is it only sodomy if the people are gay?

It always amuses me that people actually think that allowing or not allowing people to marry will have any measurable effect on if said people fuck or not. I hate to break it to the "pastor" but ridiculously few people wait till they are married to start fucking and I would imagine that probably 0% of the gay community is waiting until the law changes so that they can get married to fuck.

So basically, this bill is not going to impact who people fuck so even if correct his argument isn't a valid reason not to pass the bill.

Lol, thanks captain obvious. That would be why they are trying to pass a bill which does grant them that right.

And while I agree with your above post I also believe that since the government DOES recognize marriages that they have a valid argument that they are being discriminated against. I personally would much prefer the .gov to completely remove itself from marriage altogether. You would think that most of the "small government" right wing would be with me too, why should heterosexual couples be required to get permission from the government to get married? Sadly, this is one thing that they do want the government involved in which completely boggles my mind considering all of the specific stuff they want the .gov out of.

Yes, I have. Please answer my questions.

These are not answers to my questions.

But the idea that you have a right for the government to recognize your relationship is ridiculous and cannot be justified on any grounds.
This is not an answer to my questions, either.

Are you unable to answer them? Or are you just unwilling because they illustrate how stupid your arguments are?
