They aren't beholden to Trump in any way. Moscow Mitch's donors are the group the Supremes work for. If Mitch's donors are willing to trade the republic for the tax policies they like, then the Supremes will see to it. In other words, we're hosed.Curious as to what the Supreme Court Justices are doing right now. Frantically paging through the law books looking for an argument to get the result they want? Consulting their paymasters to find out what verdict they are required to reach?

He tried a coup last time and almost succeeded. You know as well as I do that he'll try another coup if he gets back into power and he'll have learned from the last one.

Shit, took me a good 10 seconds to land that one...Maybe their clerks are actually working. But I'm sure Thomas/Gorsuch/PBR (and Squee) are off on some fancy ice-fishing trip or hunting safari.
There are numerous posts of yours that I could quote in this thread that indicate the high priority you place on the value of fairness, not to assume guilt until it is concretely proven. This is a wonderful moral value to have and I support your moral position. But those who judge others unfairly are not subject to eternal damnation by a righteous god, they were really just punished as children for opening their mouths. Did you have parents that taught you in harsh terms not to judge? In another post you mentioned how dangerous Trump MEGA can become when they don't get what they want. Do not worry about them or that within you that is similar, because we became like that to be on the good side of God's wrath. All that is is that same fear of being punished as children for opening our mouths. That particular trope has has passed it's expiration date, along with "the most important election of our time". That's an interesting take on who I am. I can't respond without going into personal details that I don't share. There are numerous posts of yours that I could quote in this thread that indicate the high priority you place on the value of fairness, not to assume guilt until it is concretely proven. So the moral value you hold dear is a real one, but your fear of personally violating it is a conditioning from the past. Absent the fear of challenging that fear within you that you don't even see, I suspect, you will not be able to see why others see clearly, that Trump really is an insurrectionist and a eminent threat to democracy.
I suggest that the punishment for judgmentalism is inevitable and inescapable but not god dependent. It is only a sin in the sense that it the unconscious manifestation of the fact that the judgmental live in an inner prison. The judgment is a projection of a judgment they deemed worthy that happened to them out of conscious memory. The proper response is to feel sad for them as people. They can't reach the peace of inner being. To be free of the sin of judgmentalism you must be free of unconscious inner guilt. You were wrongly judged and there is no payback for it. The way out of pain is to feel it.

I love how you don't think throwing out election results and crowning yourself president for life would end democracy in the US.That particular trope has has passed it's expiration date, along with "the most important election of our time". Tripe.
For a long time he insisted what Trump attempted wasn’t a coup. When I showed him it was the dictionary definition of a coup I don’t think he’s spoken about it since.I love how you don't think throwing out election results and crowning yourself president for life would end democracy in the US.
So ready are you to move away from the countries only attempted insurrection since the Civil War.That particular trope has has passed it's expiration date, along with "the most important election of our time". Tripe.
Wow, such a rush. What year? 2040?SCOTUS to hear Trump 14th amendment appeal Feb. 8. per CNN.

Sure he wants this resolved ASAP. But there’s going to be excuse after excuse for the presidential immunity. And when he’s found guilty on a few of these charges, the final appeal to SCOTUS is going to take forever. There's nothing unusual about the timeline, not for this kind of case. Numerous other Trump related matters have gotten to SCOTUS this fast.
And it's good. Yea or nay, this needs to be resolved ASAP.
I imagine the conservative justices are figuring out their most preferred outcome and then the opinion will be written before February 8th. They might even have an opinion written up already.Curious as to what the Supreme Court Justices are doing right now. It was only for you to consider. I only know what is true of me as well as my belief we are all the same. I also think that the people who show anger at you are the ones most angry in about their own past where trust in non-judgmentalism was broken by cynical parents. That's an interesting take on who I am. Depends on the opinion. They'd have to pull a rabbit out of their hat to not look like a complete fucking joke. What if the SCOTUS comes back 9 - 0 in favor of Trump? Does that mean even the liberal justices are corrupted?

The odds of that won't be greater than the GPA of John Blutarski. What if the SCOTUS comes back 9 - 0 in favor of Trump? Does that mean even the liberal justices are corrupted?

Most people that display anger in social media do it because it's anonymous. They get to give others hell without any possibility of repercussions. It's the very definition of internet tough guy. I find it more sad than annoying. It was only for you to consider. I only know what is true of me as well as my belief we are all the same.
