As posted in the original post read the DVDTalk FAQ first. I have done this deal about 8 times, everytime used my same name, address, e-mail and cc info ... just made sure to wait 30 days between the closing of my old account and opening of my new account.

You'll get blacklisted for having too many accounts. You can have two maximum.

Thanks for the deal RDaneel!
Worked like a charm.
Bought:
Harry Potter
The Others
Snatch
Also, a bit of advice after placing order over the phone... once your membership package comes, if you are not planning on cancelling your membership right away, call customer service and tell them to change your payment method to billing instead credit card. That way if they ever send you a featured selection your card won't be charged.

I did this twice today. Had a PSN for the first order, second one they let me slide. First order was Braveheart, American Beauty, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. My wife actually wanted Fast Times; Phoebe Cates, here I come. Second order was Pulp Fiction: Collector's Edition, Dogma: Special Edition, and Forest Gump. Man, I love Columbia House, hadn't actually opened an account with them in quite awhile. Trying to cut down on dvd expenses. But only having to order 3 at a time suits me fine.

Not for those living in Hawaii or Alaska. But the lady did say I could get the 4 for .49 plus 1.99 shipping.
Doesn't make any sense. Gonnna keep trying.

i dont mean to sound like an idiot, but i've always been told to stay away from these columbiahouse things as they suck you into things you werent aware of. If i order 3 dvds, wait til they arrive, and then call up and close my account, i'll be free and they wont harass me or i wont be trapped into buying anything else?

Also, do i open an account in any special way or does it happen when i call up and place my first order. And what is PSN? thanks.

A PSN (correct me if I am wrong) is the personalized number they use on mailings to identify which ones are successful. I think it isn't that big a deal to them though, which is why they let you slide without it most of the time.

That's the beauty of this particular deal/code - in this case, you have no obligation to buy anything further. However, with most other codes/memberships, you're usually locked into buying 2 or 3 more DVDs before you can close your account.

Great deal though - I picked up Cirque du Soleil 2 DVD set, Almost Famous Bootleg Ed., and Apollo 13 DTS. Total came out to around $21.xx.

can I choose any DVD movies from their website for the three movie choices or I just have to pick from the DVDtalk list? Also, what do I say to the operator on the phone? Thanks

Just signed up for this deal. But am a bit curious here ..how do they keep track of accounts ie they did not give me an accout number. They just gave me a number to call if any questions and give my name.

I am wondering if I can sign up agian with another credit card # ?

So is the account based on credit card # or address or worse yet by name ?

Anyone ??

It's based on an address and you can have at most two accounts open at the same time. HOWEVER, you can close the accounts as many times as you want and open new ones again. There's a member on DVDTalk with over 1,000 accounts with CH and keeps on going...

you can choose from any title that is available for enrollment.

enrollment list

the list above was compiled by DVDTalk members, and not Columbia House, so the list might not be 100% accurate, though it's got most of the titles.
