I have one of these sitting right under a 1tb EADS in my main system. It's slightly more sluggish, and runs slightly cooler. The EADS is difficult to hear at all, this one is silent. I don't think the EADS is worth the extra $10 & the free dock is just icing on the cake.

It is more stable than the external HDDs that stand on their edge.

This is a really hot deal because the $40 for the dock is really the going price for them. Wow! Too bad I have two of those docks already.

Thanks, I think I'm going to bite. I couldn't find any reviews on this drive (except on newegg) but this deal is hard to pass up with the free dock... My WHS really needs a mirror drive.

I've had good luck getting them to adjust prices if an item has not already been delivered to me. Never hurts to try; it'll take all of 5 minutes with their online chat support.

I received my invoice and tracking from Newegg. Neither mentioned the dock. Now I wonder if it is included in my order. Has anyone received an invoice and tracking with the dock listed?

ps. I ordered while the combo deal was still in effect. However, the web page said "while supply last". I wonder if the supply ran out.....

Sigh....

I got my drive and dock last night, and haven't had the best of luck.

I installed it in my WHS box (GA-MA74GM MB) and it would not detect it, no matter what I did. It would take a very long time on POST and when I did an IDE auto-detect, but eventually would never find it...

I did work in the dock, but not consistently.

Is there anything else I could be doing wrong??

FYI, my invoice did have the drive, dock and discount for the combo all in it...

My drive is gonna have to go back as well. Pretty bad clicking noises coming from it.

I will say though that the packing job is better than I have seen lately at Newegg, which is good. I was about to kick them to the curb after my last few orders. (Hard drive in already smashed bubble wrap, mp3 player and RAM coming in brown envelopes with no padding)

It's bittersweet though. They screwed up and gave me the eSATA dock
