Wouldnt let me get it in Seattle. When I asked if I could upgrade to the 8mb/768k package for a discount, they told me that the 6mb/384k package I have is the fastest available.

Odd....

Looks like im switching to Qwest then. $45 a month for 7mb/896k DSL.

I think I got the best deal. I am on a Comcast package. I called in using the 'cancel service' number and read of FIOS and a DirecTV deal I just got for $29.95 (We Miss You promotion.) The CSR couldn't lower my internet but gave me 3 months free TV. I have an HD package with a suite of pay channels....3 months was about $200 credit.

Um...aren't they running a 19.99/4 mnths deal on their site, anyways?

What is HSI?

If all I have is Comcast phone (new to comcast internet), then how do I signup for this 6 month deal?

Update... I just got the 19.95$ deal for 6months. I called the cancellation number and she quickly gave it to me. She orginally said "Well I heard thats been emailed around to certain people, but you need to receive the email to get that deal." I said, ok, I am going to cancel and she said, "I guess your playing hardball, let me find the code for the deal".

Took about 4 minutes!

PS Anyone have a deal on CableTV w/ HDTV? I pay about 100 a month i believe for HDTV + HBO+Showtime+Stars+Encore.

Same here, I live in Central Massachusetts and have called 4 different people, and no luck on the deal.

Make sure that you hit the button that corresponds w/ downgrade/cancel your service... those people are much more willing to deal with you

I got the deal in seattle, had to call twice, second lady told me the dea was originally mailed out to only atlanta custombers but they apparently accidentally sent the flyers to other places. She put it on my account and told me to call in a wk and they'll have a promo code by then that they can use to honor the flyer. fingers crossed.

thanks smoochy, I tried today anyway while I was at work and had some time to burn. Got the same answer. Since only the Cable TV has been switched and the name to Comcast, nothing else has been moved over yet from TW until mid July. At which point they can offer Comcast promotions. However, existing TW promotions are still good. Tried to get them to help me out and got $10 knocked off my bill for 6 months at least. Still better than the $50 or so after taxs I pay for just the internet.

On a side note: Then again, I can't complain too much, they still give me free cable TV. Silly TW/Comcast (in my area). I told them 4 times I wanted cable turned off and they still haven't. When I started service with them, it was for internet only at $20 a month for 6 months. Have had it with cable TV for a year now, including some of the pay per view channels. So, if they know and give it to me, it's no sweat off my nose.

Just scored in Chicago, IL! (I'm normally paying $52.95/mo for 8mbit service)

First CSR wasn't aware of the offer, then transferred me to corporate sales, and talked to a lady. I had to give her the details of the deal. She tried to tell me it was for new custies only, but I read the fine print to her and said that it means current customers. She looked at my account and saw that I had used a similar promotion in 2006, and said that normally she would not apply this for me, and that I shouldn't expect this deal annually, but that they appreciate us being with them for a long time, so she did it. I said that the deal specifies that you can't have the promo during the last 60 days, not a year ago, and she just said that I shouldn't expect this every year. LOL

So $29.99/mo (due to 8mbit service) for the rest of the year = $137.76 savings. Not bad at all for 15 minutes on the phone.

I asked about television offers, but they only tried to sell me their most expensive package which includes all premium and sports channels. I may have to call again about lowering my TV rates.

Hey, is that normal? Is 8mbit only 10$ more? Im gonna call and sign up for it if thats the case. I also saw a flyer that said that 8mbit service is now 16mbit in some areas. Do you get over 8mbit in your area?

I did the $19.95 deal in Atlanta yesterday. I called the "cancel service" lady. It took about 5 minutes.

Thanks for the tip

I live in Shreveport, LA. Comcast just took over TW earlier this year here. I called the 1-800-COMCAST number and selected the downgrade/cancel service option. Told them I wanted to sign up for the 19.99/month offer for existing customers. Took him about 3-4 minutes and said it was on there and all set. Easy as pie!

Glad I called!
