Comcast $19.95/Month HSI Deal

I just ordered it online without logging in. you place order here http://www.comcast.com/shop/buyflow/default.ashx , you will have to put a self install kit in your cart for $9.95 at the end of your order a live anlyst will open a text chat with you ask you a few questions acount # bla bla. After a moment she will comeback and say I just lowered your internet and I will be sending you a self install kit and at that point you say do I really need the kit and she will say not unless your adding additional hook up, and you say no and thats that. I scored form Central Ma. (Ware) keep trying.

Hey, is that normal? Is 8mbit only 10$ more? Im gonna call and sign up for it if thats the case. I also saw a flyer that said that 8mbit service is now 16mbit in some areas. Do you get over 8mbit in your area?

AFAIK it's normal. The download speed is great but I really pay more just for the 2x upload speed (768kbps vs. 384kbps). With their "speed boost" you definitely get faster than 8Mbps downloads, especially for small files, because the speeds increase to maybe 10-12Mbps for the first 30 seconds or so of the download (if it even takes that long).

I can download large files from Archive.org or fast BitTorrents at 1MB/s or slightly higher.

Just tried to get it through the web site and they would not give it to me since I'm already setup, Even though its not stated anywhere in the offer on the website that I can not get it. They really need to clarify things a bit better or give it to the people that ask for it.

Call the disconnect line and do it through there.....you will have better luck.

I don't really want to threaten to cancel but I suppose I could just cancel and then re up. Based on how their website reads anyone that has Comcast right now should be able to get the $19.99 deal for 6 months. I just wrote them an email stating as such again. We will see if it gets me anywhere. Im not holding my breath.

Well email was also a no go! I guess disconnect line would be the only hope or just cancel and re up.
