Comcast and Bit Torrent

Well, pretty simple i guess. I'm using comcast internet and bit torrent, and i throttle my upload speed under 3k/s when i download. Problem is that the cable modem disconnects and the lights that turn off are the " cable link " and the " cable activity "

Any one have some suggestionsto keep bit torrent working and playing nicely w/ comcast or cable modem?

Try it without using bit torrent and see if that helps. Comcast won't say how much is too much, but I would stay under 15-20 Gig.

tried it, and it stays online when im not using BT. ive had it up for like 4 hours and it hasnt disconnected yet, but after like 20 mins of use w/ BT on, it will lose connection.

i used to have a problem like this with my DSL, when i got a router the problem went away.

Comcast won't say how much is too much, but I would stay under 15-20 Gig.

In 43 days I've downloaded 126G, I havn't heard anything yet.

And for the record I use bittorrent with Comcast and it works fine.

I've heard typical monthly "max" is 90-100GB before you get a letter. I run BT just fine through comcast, sounds like your modem is funky. I cap to 14KB/sec upload and it still works fine. I easily run 50 on high months, less otherwise.

I run bittorrent behind a router on my Comcast at home and have never had a problem. However, my apartment has DSL and I'm behind a router and quite often when I get on bittorrent it'll kill the connection for whatever else is running (like IRC, IM, etc.). The only thing I can reason out is that Bittorrent basically just uses almost all the avalible bandwidth, too much information at once? I dunno.
