Comcast Digital Phone

I ordered Digital Phone about 10 days ago with free installation when I purchase a selected package. Well, they came today, 02/07/04, and installed the phone. Turns out they ARE CHARGING me the install fee. They say that promotion no longer exists and I MUST pay that fee.

I am calling COMCRAP headquarters Monday to lodge a complaint.:disgust:

I am trying to shift to Vonage from them. It has been two montsh and they have not done the number transfer as yet. Wonder whether there is any forum where one can lodge complaint abt it

I actually just did the switch to Vonage from Comcast. Rather the transfer just completed. The process started 8 months ago. Let me warn you that if you have or ever have had distinctive ring on your Comcast line, call them and make sure they completely remove all trace of it from your account. It took me two tries to get Comcast to disable the distinctive ring service, and then a 3rd phone call to figure out why Vonage still couldn't transfer the number. It turns out that the distinctive ring *number* was still somehow attached to my account. The rep removed that reference, and the transfer was then processed in less than a week.
