Comcast doubled my internet speed

Did anybody else get their speed doubled? Im downloading off Steam at 7.6mb/s right now

used to hit 3.8 on the 25mbps plan, so exactly doubled

Comcast's 50megabit plan comes with 10megabit of overhead for television, voip, etc. So 60megabit / 8 = 7.5MB/s.

Moving on, there's a chance Comcast did this because there is a new game in town. You might want to look into it.

I've been on their 105mbps tier for the past two years for 60/mo. I think I am getting 13.7-14 MB/s sustained download speed with it. Can't really complain.

They have been rolling out free upgrades regionally as far as know. A few of my friends in the area got the upgrade last summer, I got it a few months ago.

Mine doubled too.. I just ran the speedtest.net.
Cranking along at 115Mbps.

glad I didn't go with YouVerse who could barely guarantee me 6Mbps, although I still hate Comcrap.

Just...erm...chipping in from New Zealand...the 29th fastest internet in the world...apparently...

I absolutely wish I had 7Mbps. What I have is a shitty 3Mbps from a service that was advertised as 11Mbps where the ISP-supplied router cuts out literally twice a day.

What i hate is that I have two options. Comcast or WOW!. For the same price as the 12/3 plan here at WOW! I could get the 50/50 at comcast, or for a tiny bit more get 105/105. Thing is, I don't trust comcast.

Why did 7 byte ate? Because 8 looked too much like a bit and needed to be one/ate the size.
