Comcast doubled my speed.

Dunno about just getting boosted. Just noticed my DL speeds are a bit faster and my modem changed its indicator lights; well, one specifically which was always amber until two days ago when it suddenly went to green. It's been amber for the 8 months I've been here, so the change was noticed....and the DL speed seemed to increase the same time.

Wellfleet, btw.

I don't know what modem you use, but the change in color could be the modem connecting as DOCSIS 3.0 vs. DOCSIS 2.0. My downlink is colored blue (DOCSIS 3.0) and my uplink is green (DOCSIS 2.0).

Do not forget Comcast is fiber to the node. Easy to change that to FTTH.

No. Google Fiber is will be in one city. The speculation is that it's because of FIOS offering higher speeds.

Comcast is really stepping it up. As long as you have a D3 modem, you're pretty much set. 300Mbps service may be a different story.

I had Comcast but the problem is the price. I switched to Fios and only pay $127 for triple play; I get phone, internet 45d 45up and cable.

The cable package I have is every HD channel with Showtime HD, Cinemax HD Stars HD and MGM HD. Also I have the sports package NFL network, hockey, baseball, basketball all HD, 2 dvrs, 2 cable boxes. Also, the package included $500 visa card.

When I was with Comcast I had basic cable with basic HD channels and internet that was 7 megs paying $197 with the Playboy channel.

So what are you guys paying for Comcast?

That's sustained download/upload not some power boost bullshit you see in these speed tests. Try downloading or uploading at least 1GB and you will see it drop. Powerboost is pure marketing bullshit that even the "techies" have taken hook, line, and sinker. Pity. D:

Not in the MD area.
Several business accounts test ridiculously high approaching 100mbps down and over 22 up. FTP transfers show about 30 down and 11 up sustained. I don't trust speedtest.net results on Comcast because of this.

Residential accounts do in fact have a 250GB cap. It's not a hard cap and as a matter of fact before you get that nasty gram you often have to exceed it by a lot over several months.

They are transitioning to a new model with a 300GB cap. That one will be a hard cap. Once you hit that you pay for overage.
