This site was mentioned on AT or FW a while ago and it looks like the deal got better today:

http://www.comcastoffers.com

For my area, it now shows Comcast High Speed Internet for $19.99/month for 6 months, free basic install (or $49.95 premium install) and a Motorola SB5100 cable modem for $39.95 ($89.95 - $50 rebate). It sounds like the deal is only for people who also have cable TV service.

Dell doesn't seem to be running any Comcast deals right now:

http://dell.getconnected.com/

Otherwise, Dell would be better if we could get the $75 rebate (which could potentially cover the cost of a cable modem purchased at the store) along with the $19.99/month for the first 6 months.

(To me, the holy grail of Comcast deals is to get a free cable modem, $19.99/month for 6 months... along with a deal for cable TV )

Thanks.

[Edit: edited title to more clearly specify that this is for Internet service]

I cashed in on the $25 a month for 6 month deal up here in Bellingham WA , also there was a $40 rebate which
was credited to my account by the second month which bascially gave me my second month free and my third
month is only $10.XX . :

I have an 1800/256 line and I usually get 95%-110% ..I used to have a Qwest DSL 640/256 line that sucked.

Nice deal... too bad it's for new customers only...

I wish I only paid $43... Basic cable + Cable modem costs me $85

Yeah...new customerrs only.....but wait a minute, I was paying ATTbi....not comcast, so aren't I a new customer?

Oh yeah....of course I'm not....That would make sense.

Any deals in south San Jose, CA? I'll be moving back home soon and I'm looking for a broadband provider for that area. Can't find cable internet services for my zip code of 95119 on Comcast.com

Thanks for the links!

I overheard a co-worker stating he was getting Comcast cable and broadband internet service installed tomorrow.

He was going to pay RETAIL. Then I showed him the two offers, he's going to go with the 2nd.

I think he called customer service and they were able to modify his promo offer, 1st 6 months for $19.99/mo with a FREE cable modem after MIR.

Nice

This is the deal that I got in on last week with BestBuy.

$80 SB5100 Cable Modem
-$20 Motorola Rebate
-$60 Comcast

AND

6 months of service for $19.99 a month.

Pretty sweet deal.

Verizon recently dropped their prices (and upped their DL speed to 1.5M if your line qualifies) to $35/mo ($30 if you also have Vzn local and LD phone service). Verizon still sucks as far as upstream goes (port 80 blocked, upload capped at 128k or 256k), but if you don't need such amentities, it's a decent deal.

Part of the offer restrictions:

" $19.99/mo for 6 months offer available to new residential customers, and former residential customers whose accounts are in good standing and who have not had Comcast High-Speed Internet service during the last 60 days. "

I did call Comcast sales and spoke to someone that lowered my bill $14 a month for six months. Said I was going to dsl and they made me a deal.

Nope. well comcast told me the have the blossom hill area. But I"ve been promised cable internet since 1998.

then it became fall of 2000. recently I was told fall of 2003. I'm not betting on it though. If you don't have any issues with dsl then just get their package. 1.5mbits down/128 up 29.95 a month if you sign 1 year contract.

6mbit/384 up package is 100 bucks a month for 1 year too.

Garet Jax - D'oh he could have bought his cable modem INSTANTLY @ BB instead of waiting for a MIR.

Oh well, he's still getting a killer deal regardless.

the s.f. bay area has the $19.99/mo deal but for only 5 months. deal ends 6/15/03.

now if i have comcast at one residence.. and then want to signup for comcast at another place (different town) under the same name, this would be considered a new sub right?

anyone know if the linksys cable modem is any good?

BB has it for $99 - $30 MIR - $20 MIR - $50 Activation MIR = Free

I am not a comcast cable user, so the CSR couldn't give me the $19.99 deal. Instead she offered me $29.99 for 6 month, no contract. Basic installation is $9.95. Within 48 hours I called, I got the connection up. Speed 1867/250, very happy.
After 6 month, my bill will be like $57. Then I will call them to close account, and I am quite optimistic they will offer me another deal. If not, I will just cancle to go with the best deal I can find then.

Thanks for the response. I live right off Bernal Rd, a little south of you. I've already started looking for a DSL provider. The $29.95 plan that you use, is it through Comcast? How is it?

Just signed up my neighbor for the 6 mo./$19.99. After sign-up, a free modem offer from broadbandoffers.com popped up. 89.95 plus 7.00 for shipping plus 7.87 IL taxes minus 69.95 and 20.00 rebates. Nice deal. Hope the modem arrives before the installer, though.

No go here with this promotion.

I just went ahead and canceld my service with Comcast. I can get SBC DSL for $29.95 a month here in Los Angeles so not a big deal if they don't want to give me any promotion. I thought Comcast would have made a deal to retain me since I have been a customer with them for over 2 1/2 years. $60 vs. $30 for internet is a lot of money. I'd rather have that money in my pocked and not Comcast.

got in on this deal...using comcast right now. Its pretty good, faster than than the pac bell DSL I had. Its about 200k dl and 40k ul. Got the 6 months for $19.99 and free basic installation. The installation guy was really cool and did the "premium" install for no extra charge. Probably saved me half an hour.
