This morning I followed the Email from Comcast on setting up my account. In short when you type your username, and password it leads you to an unsecured area where they expect you to change your passwords, add new e-mail accounts and general account maintenance. Under your user profile (again in a unsecured area) they have your Name, address, phone number, age bracket. You can remove your name but not your address phone number age bracket. After a call to their customer service, who transferred me to their tech support who stated that ?they can not change that information or remove it because it is stored on their main server and they are not allowed to talk or communicate with the division who is in charge of their servers, they can not give out phone numbers to that section or their corporate offices even if you want to complain about it. After calling their Corporate office (hey 411 hello information) 1-215-665-1700 going through several people they told me they would remove that information and call me back when they did. To further rub salt on the wound they advertise that all these transactions take place in a secure area, but their tech support will tell you it?s not. How many people who don?t know that their not in a secure area are sending private personnel information over an unsecured connection thinking ?Comcast says it secured? besides the fact any incompetent Hacker could use readily available snooping programs to retrieve your username, your password, and then have access to your name address, and phone number. Comcast seems to think it?s no big deal that they are stating that it?s on a secure area even though it?s not and it been over 4 hours and my personnel information is still out their for any one wants to take a little effort to get it. Hey maybe I?m paranoid but I don?t like what their doing. :frown:
New news Apparently all the information about you is not on Comcast servers, there on another companies whom they partnered with who that is they won?t say.
