Comet 12p/pons-brooks. It was pretty dim tonight and close to the horizon. Then a certain rocket left a con trail that drifted in front of the comet. Also of note, while viewing the comet through a spotting scope which covers less than a degree of sky, the longest period free of a satellite passing through the view was 45 seconds. There were a couple times when two satellites were in view through the scope.
Said rocket:
Falcon 9 launch from Vandenberg. The rocket is 300-350 miles away in this photo. I'll post a video later. It takes awhile to load on youtube.
Also saw a meteor and heard elf owls and a screech owl.
