Comet Mid ATX 300Watt Case. $35 shipped.

I just got the comet case with the 300watt for $35. Mine came blue. It's a really nice case. The motherboard tray is removable. I am not using the power supply it came with however. I did try it for about a day though and I had no problems. It is loud though. It comes with one side intake fan which I am not using because it is quite loud compared to a panaflo(which is what I am using for intake/exhaust). Great deal in my opinion.

Still waiting on my Comet case after 3 weeks and 3 emails. All you get is an automated email reply. I don't think these guys are scam-artists, but I would definitely not recommend them unless you have multiple weeks to wait for your order. Incompetent or scamming, this is ridiculous.

I ordered mine last Wed and got tracking # on Thur. It arrived from Calif. to NC by UPS today(Mon) so I have no complaint with the vender. It has some new features I have not seen before. The speaker is not a speaker has we know it. It is a very small cylinder on the normal two wires, but only about a inch long! The feet are one piece instead of the normal 2 piece foot and small "stick" you see on econmy cases like this. With no speaker in the way, it is flat on the bottom with enough room for a water cooling sytem and muliple drives. The side panels and the tray are fairly heavy and reinforced around the edges. The front bezel has grills that are open to the inside of the case for decent airflow wih 80mm fans you supply. I am putting a XP 1800 on a MSI KT7 in this case and will post what happens and how it goes.

Can anyone list the spec of the 300W power supply?

Is it enough for AMD XP 1600+ ?

Mine has a TigerPro Model TP-300 PSU. The box says P4 compatible and has the Mobo connection. My 1800XP came up 1900XP(145x13)and all seems OK, but I am just running the bios. Installation was very easy. The gold studs were firmly in place on the tray so all I had to do was screw the board in place, which slid easily in the slot and snugged up to the back of the case and is held in place with a screw seperate from the ones that hold the side panel. My MSI board fit perfectly and overall this seems like a good value over the $50+ generic cases you find in retail stores.

Wow, this case is $54 shipped at Newegg. Thanks for the find! It makes up for the EMS / Antec fiasco.

All I can say is WOW. I upgraded from an Enlight 7237 to this case and I can't believe all of the fan slots. I have two up front for the HDs. Two in back. One on the side blasting on my HSF. I also have one in the PS and a slot cooler. I can't believe this. $38 with an extra fan and my load temps (Prime95) with an SK-6 have dropped 8 - 9 degrees Celsius. Who knows what I can get once I widen the vents up front and clean / lap / Arctic Aluminize my SK-6.

Well I ordered the 300 generic (not the comet). It arrived today and it is butt ugly! It is all beige -- not the one with the blue stripe I was expecting..... What's worse it that is has a big dent on the top (flimsy case!)... I paid .88 cents extra for ins, I wonder if that means anything. I am sure my customer is not going to be thrilled about the eyesore of a dent.....

I was really excited... now I am just pissed. I checked the site and the picture of the case has asterisk next to it mentioning that the picture might not rep the case I recieve..... (I know that saves them, but if I knew this was the case I was getting I probably wouldn't have gotten it!)

I am gonna call them tomorrow and see what they can do...

I ordered two and got both Silver! I wanted Blue!

Can someone who got Blue tell me, is the whole case blue like in the picture they show, or is just the front part blue? The pic's at Newegg show just the front part blue.

Originally I was going to swap in a Celeron 1.3 w/ MB, but the I/O ports didn't line up on the rear and I didn't feel like swapping plates so I ordered a AMD 1600+ and ECS MB off the NewEgg deal

I am being cheap since this is a second system and rather not have to buy a new power supply if I don't have to... can anybody confirm if the Tiger Pro 300 watt can safely be used with the XP 1600 running 2 5400 RPM HDs and 1 CDRW drive?

I don't feel so bad then. Thier all blue pic's looked pretty nice. This is a nice case! Definately worth the $35. Did anyone get the $45 one with the front USB's? If you did, please post a picture. I almost went for one of them.

Just got off the phone with justin...... They were very quick and called me back in less than 15 minutes..... Filed a claim with UPS and a new one is on its way out on Monday..... Justin suggested I get the COMET case instead, so I will let ya know what color I get.

Even though the case was damaged ..... I am very pleased with their customer service. Would consider ordering from them again..

My Comet case arrived in great time. I am impressed with it looks and the space. I do have a question...has anyone else used this case with a ECS K7S5A motherboard. Does anyone know the pinout for the front USB panel and the header on the motherboard?

I have done this a few times and it always feels like the time Greg brady rebuilt that old car -- I had a few pieces left over !!! You might be missing a ground or one header but do the best you can with the pin diagram and it should work ok...... I have built 2 systems with that board and the usb is def a bit tricky....

<edit> The case arrived and it looked like someone kicked the crap out of the box/packaging. UPS perhaps? Case was in great shape though. The styrofoam kinda fell apart as I took it out. For $32, can't complain! </edit>
