What are some of your most cherished or more memorable issues?

I am not at my collection right now, but the first one that comes to mind is Avengers Annual #1 printed in either 1967 or 1968.

A couple of 1970s issues of spider-man where he has the spider buggy.

The majority of my Marvel collection is Thor, Iron Man, some X-men, Avengers,,,, and mostly from the late 1960s - late 1970s.

Transformers Gen1 issue 1 first print, actually, issues 1-20 first prints. I picked them up in 84 on my 6th grade trip to DC. That really got me into comics.

what happened in the BlaCK Lantern story arc?
How was Bruce Wayne's skull an essential part? what happened to Batman's death?
How was black lantern resolved?

(1) Bruce Wayne's skull was essential as it created an emotional response within the heroes.
(2) Batman didn't die... Darkseid's Omega Beams sent him back in time
(3) The White Entity (Life) was resurrected and he brought Black Hand back to life. Since Black Hand was the anchor for Nekron, he had no tether to the land of the living.. and he went back to the realm of death.

You mean the Bill Willingham Elementals? That was really good stuff before it imploded or whatever happened. Not exactly kids stuff either.... :hmm:

I was a child of the 90's for comic collecting SO stuff like the death of superman, batman having his back broken, green lantern going mad, Gen 13 the original mini series, the Maxx and Spider-Man #1. Oh and of course Lady Death and the Vengeance of Vampirella.

My favorite character was Dr. Doom. I stopped reading when he was "killed" off in the 90s, although I am sure he is back.

I always liked the What If series, and my favorite of those was when the Watcher fought Galactus.

My collection is pretty worthless in terms of $$$. Valuable to me because of the fun me and my brother had collecting them back in the day.

One of my favorite stories: Superman: Speeding Bullets

I really liked the Maxx. LOL at the 90's.

The dawn of the Epic Titties Age of Comics.

That series was standout for me too.

The first few story arcs of the Lee/Claremont X-Men reboot. Issue #3, in particular, was the first comic book I ever bought new, at a comic-book store. That, and a 2nd printing of X-Force #1 (before I knew what a 2nd print was).

A lot of the early Image stuff sticks out also, mostly due to "controversial" topics. Character with AIDS, extreme violence/gore, and the aforementioned epic titties.

The "wolverine has bone claws" storyline, as well as the subsequent "wolverine goes feral" one that culminated in, I think, his 100th issue. That was about the time my collecting ended.

LOL- me too! It started sucking around the 25th issue, so I stopped, but the storyline in those first 20 was REALLY good. That should have been the storyline for the movies.

Got my a big Batman collection from the late 80's. Have first prints of Frank Miller's revamp of the Dark Knight too. Haven't checked the value lately.

secret wars II 8 (first symbiote spider-man)
First Carnage
First Venom Cameo
First Mcfarlane Spider-man
all of the Spider-man(1990) title to cancellation.
First Bishop

I got a bunch of good stuff including a couple signed books for 10cents a book once when a comic book store closed down. My only regret now is I only spent 20 instead of 200.

I got real lucky back in the late-80s, while out out with my grandmas garage sale-ing. Ran across one where a lady was selling her son's whole collection, and wouldn't you know it, they were all from the 1970s, they were all Marvel, and they were all my favorite titles. I offered her $20 for everything as she had them listed at $0.25 each. Some of the highlights:

X-Men #80-125
Giant-Size X-Men #1
Amazing Spider-Man #119-180
Giant-Sized Spider-Man #1 & 2
Incredible Hulk #170-200
Fantastic Four #172-201

There were many more. However, just in those listed above, I snagged some of the most famous and important comics in Marvel history - Giant-Sized X-Men #1; X-Men #94; Amazing Spider-Man #121, 122, 129; Incredible Hulk #180, 181, 182. It was absolutely insane, and without question, the coolest thing that ever happened to me in my comic collecting days.

I ended up selling them all for thousands not that long ago. Not a bad return on my investment.

I was a big time fan of image comics in the 90's, the Maxx, Spawn, WildC.A.T.s....good times. Is that the Maxx #1/2 that I see up there. I remember sending off for that one.

I have a few of the BM from the mid 80's, along with GI Joe vs Transformers. I also found the first issue with the Hulk vs Wolverine the first time they met, and the first Iron Man with the origin story. I need to find the issue numbers, I don't know about value. Most of it is stored sealed in a trunk at my dad's.

Think I have all of Macross starting at #2. Only dabbled in other stuff although I normally got the who's who issues of DC.

My late '60s early '70s Marvel/DC comics collection. Mostly influenced by the Cartoon TV series. Mostly Iron Man, Capt.America, Hulk, Thor, Spider-man, Superman, Batman. Not a complete collection but whatever I could get my hands on that time, probably about <100 issues. Ended up trading some of them with a grade school classmate. Can't recall how most of them gone by the time I reached HS.

Invincible Iron Man#9 was one of my favorites.
