Tomorrow's the release date? Anyone else eager to pick it up? My only fear with the game is that the online community may lack with not many online players (seemed to be the case with the last C&C)

I can list many developers right now with the same issues. ID software's D3 and Q4 did a good job pre-patch but everybody hates their games anyway.

I don't know, the C&C3 demo was pretty smooth. Unless I hear anything really negative, I'll be picking up C&C3 by the end of the week.

I thought I remember last week that Walmart.com showed 3/26/07 for the regular DVD edition. Now it says 3/27/07. Other sites show a day or two after that.

I suppose I can check out Walmart tonight for it. I suspect I need some groceries and house supplies anyway. I need to check out my funds first to see if I can buy it... but I know that IF Walmart has it there I WILL pick it up while I'm there. So maybe I should just stay away from there.

I'm really doubting that this Walmart way up here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan will have it on release day (if that is today) anyway.

And they are absolutely the only place in town that would have it on or near release day, much less anytime after.


I hope they did a few balancing issues. Mammoth tank seems to powerful in the demo making GDI the side to play in multiplayer unless you are able to use Nod and rush within 10-15 minutes. With the high tech-up speed (cranes and whatnot) compared to other games, you would need to rush very quickly as Nod, because once GDI gets 10 or more Mammoth tanks out, I don't know if Nod has the tank units to compete at all. I haven't tried Nod yet in the demo, but if the scorpion tank is there main battle tank, only comparable to the Predator at best (and it can't evn get railguns), then it's gonna get utterly owned by Mammoths. Avatars seem too expensive and slow, as they aren't much of a threat in Skirmish. In addition, superweapons seemed very strong, and infantry were crap since full tech can be done in 15 minutes making them obsolete too quick.

I'm sure they meant a Pentium M 2.0. If you have a Core CPU than it will run it like the wind.

When you see "minimum 2GHz" that means "Pentium IV 2.0GHz or higher". A Core 2 @ 1.86GHz will be equivelant in gaming performance to a 3.2-3.4Ghz Pentium IV. You'll be fine.

Yeah I have an AMD 3200 venice @ 2.5ghz. 1gb memory. 7900gt. Ill have the game in 2-3 hours or so, ill let you know how it runs.

Im always curious how the initial version release of a retail game plays. Typically it takes a few patches before everything is really ironed out and performance optimized.

It was 26 March on EA Link, but now its showing as 27 March. Must have had some last minute issues or some such crop up. Either way, I've got it on preorder through EA Link now, we'll see if EA Link has improved since I bought the B&W2 expansion through it.

Here are the system specs that I came across and I think it is one of the better ones, but we truly won't know until real gamers give us their expreriences. I jumped from a single core 3200+ to an X2 3800+ but my X800GTO will keep me from the "full experience." Man, games are getting rough and tough on hardware.

Well So much for waiting. I got C&C installed then found out it wont run on Windows 2000. So bleh. Ill have to wait for my new HD to install windows xp.

Wow, this game takes 'nVidia-The Way It's Meant To Be Played' to a new level... The performance gains are HEAVILY biased in the Green direction. It makes me sad when developers optimize for one side of the video card market... oh well, they're getting money from nV right now for it, eh?
Anyways, ordered this earlier today from EB, should be here Wednesday.
