I mean a nuke could take out one structure, or a couple if you knew where to aim it. Now it takes out a huge chunk of your base.

I tend to be a turtle-style player so maybe that's why it's harder for me. But I've always played that way and never had a problem in earlier games... I was quite good in multiplayer. Guess I'll just have to adopt. They do need the option to turn off superweapons though, definitely.

i turtle too, infact i used to play 3 vs 3 with my two other c n c playing mates online, i'd be china, they would be GLA and USA. and we just turtled to hell.

id have fields of laptop guys, they'd have similar with supply drops and black markets...the money would go up way faster than you could spend it.

we'd get to the point where we'd jus bombard them with aircraft, then carpet nuke them. then send in the tanks...if they could actually move between the buildings, to finish off.

thats a long long way to play lol

i never play RTS games online because I generally suck against other players in this genre. i like to sit back and build my base and build an army, i guess i'm a turtle too.

i guess i'm just not quick or organized enough to be competitive against other players

Sometimes playing online is a waste of time.

I remember this back in 98 (freshman in college) when I was playing Starcraft:

1v1 battle, I was Terran and the opponent Protoss. It was an epic battle, involving almost all kinds of units. After 3 hours, yes 3 hours, I was down to one barrack and he was heavily damaged and down to a building or two (no more resources). I had 2 battleships remaining, and he had three droid-making-huge-ship-thing (forget the name) left.

We raced for each others' buildings. I had the advantage since the building was mobile, but the map was large for 1v1. I couldn't find his facking buildings and the damn battleships are so slow! At the end, he eventually found my floating barracks, and I was left with a loss and minus 4 hours.

well.. just installed it. i recently upgraded to a dual-monitor setup. while in game(the demo too) when i try to scroll to the left of the map my mouse appears on the secondary LCD(i have it to the left of my primary).

how can i make it stop doing this without disabling dual-monitor capabilities?

Just started playing yesterday after downloading it from EA.

I like it so far.

I like how the campaigns so far(first 5 or 6 is what I have played) are shorter missions to get you accustomed to each unit rather than having just 10 really long campaigns.

the commando in the the hampton road mission is insane! he's unstoppable!

No sh!t. But, he didn't face any heavy Anti-infantry weaponry. He was up against mainly other infantry, which he mowed throw with ease. I'd imagine if we had to battle his way past some heavy anti-infantry NOD cannons, he might think twice.

yeah, the commando mission is my favorite so far. I loved flying past the boxes into enemy territory to kill everyone.

But the optional quest on that mission was to finish it with only the commando. Which I did, yet I didn't get that medal.

he survived constant attack with the flame thrower tank. isn't that heavy anti-infantry?

it said i passed that but i don't remember getting a medal for it. did it say you passed that part of the mission?

i made a point not to even click on any other units because i know in other games with similar missions it was extremely picky. i didn't even use the naval bombardment.

just don't take him into a building with the flame tank around - that's instant death. i restarted the mission when that happened.

Yeah, I went through the mission without clicking anyone else. But I still got an X instead of a check for that part. Oh well, I'll just do it again later sometime.

I just got C&C 3 and I agree with the other posters--the game is well polished, runs very smoothly, looks great, and brings back classic C&C gameplay.

Hmm... I didn't click anyone else and I got a check mark. Maybe a glitch?

I thought this game would give my PC some trouble at 1920x1200 but it runs beautifully at everything maxed out. Is there a way to queue mutiple targets? I tried holding down ctrl and shift (not at same time) and it didn't work. Oh well, let me see if I can find it in the manual...
