I had the same problem, the way I fix the issue is to alt-tab out of the game then alt-tab back into the game. After doing that, it locks the cursor into the game and you can scroll normally.

YMMV.

For multiple targets, did you try going into planning mode and putting some waypoints on the targets? Then get out of planning mode and click on a waypoint. You'd have to do it sorta fast I'd think but there is a shortcut key for the planning mode.

you should have a manual in electronic (most likely PDF) format. Thats how most games you purchase and download do it. check your folder under the programs menu.

if not, that really sucks.

Question: Is there a screenshot feature or do i just have to use print screen?

Comment: I see they copied at least 2 thigns from the Dune universe - NOD Carryalls and the Scrin Buzzers. The Buzzers are from the newer prequel series of books though.

Yeah, runs absolutely awesome on my P930 @ 3.3GHz w/2GB RAM and X850XT at max everything. Verrrry nice. I've yet to find any bugs, and this is the first EA game I've played in like... ages.

-It (demo and retail) slows down noticeably for me during larger skirmish games, or basically whenever I amass a large number of mammoth tanks and bases. This is the rig in my sig (Opteron 146 @ 2.5ghz, 2GB, 7800gt) running 1680x1050, mostly high details except for mid on stuff like shadows and water, and I can't remember AA exactly but I believe it is the first step 'ON', so probably 2x. I could probably just turn it off to get a few more fps. Still, a very smooth game and quite polished for a EA developed product.

-The FMV cut-scenes seem to look REALLY good. Even x264 encodes or DVD playback looks much more pixelated on my display than those FMV sequences! It just seemed very crisp for the first couple GDI missions I've done so far. For a 5.6GB total installation, that is not too bad as the box says over 90 minutes of footage (though after checking the directory, it looks like movies takes 3.5GB of that!).

-I'd like to see some additions and balance changes with patches. The two patches so far haven't done anything affecting me from what I could tell. I just don't see infantry having much use except in singleplayer missions where you don't have the tech for the better tanks yet. I mean stuff like snipers and commandos are cool, but up against a tank?? For the money you spend on them it just isn't worth it when you can build a tank for 2x more but kill 20x as much of those infantry units. I was kinda thinking that since the commando has jumpjets and C4 for structures AND walkers in this one, that it would be cool if it could C4 vehicles? Why not? They don't get much use in MP. I only remember a handful of games of all C&C games I've played where I used commandos or special infantry units in a MP game.

- I've only played against AI Nod and Scrin, but it just doesn't seem like they have the tanks to compete with GDI mammoth, and even predator. The mammoth and predator are better as it is, but the extremely cheap $3000 railgun upgrade makes them much better. They should either lower the GDI tank firepower or increase Nod and/or Scrin units to deal enough to compete with them. As is, seems like Nod can only use "guerilla" tactics (taking out harvesters or rushing, with stealth helping some in this) else they are completely toast after 15 minutes since the tech and overall game speed is VERY fast.

- It doesn't seem like the two GDI aircraft are worth it, or even aircraft in general (except maybe a few Kirovs in RA2 that fly across unnoticed till they take out 75% of your base), but this is the same I've experienced for every C&C game pretty much.

- And finally, let me turn off the superweapons as an option for skirmish or MP games, eh? It was an option before! Though it did come to my attention that all players' superweapon structure is shown on the map and can be jumped to.

duragezic,have you mentioned your ideas over at the offical forum? EA seems to be shooting out a mini-patch every 3 days. They seem to be geared in customer service this time around.

Yeah, I'm having some issues with the whole infantry balance thing, too. With the Scrin, it's pretty much worthless to build ANY infantry at all. In the beginning just build a few base defenses until you have their War Factory (forget what it's called) and then sell all the defenses and make tons of vehicles. Disentegrators are pretty much TOTALLY worthless. At least Buzzers kill what they're supposed to...
Anyways, has anyone else noticed that the Planetary Assault Carriers are near exact copies in function of Starcraft's Carriers?
Loving the campaign on this so far; haven't done any online MP yet.

I played like 6 hrs on my friend's computer, this game's not bad, nice story. Just played GDI but I'm dying to play Nod ... waiting for my friend to finish. I like the nice story and good acting. I not get the message "Silo required", no clue how to build one but any case just haven't spent too much time with it, i'm sure it's all explained somewhere. However, the weakness of this game compare to CoH is that the territory is not your resource, so you have no incentive to conquor and keep fighting, i'm more like build an army and sent them out to rush other dude's base camp type of game. Very classic RTS but not as dynamic as CoH's territory = resource style that induces constant action. But overall, I can see the production of the game is so polished it's a great piece even though a few shortcomings. Love it!

the patches really lowered at least the armor of the mamoth tank. its still a beast, but it can't take as much punishment as in the demo

Just finished the GDI side here, that was awsome! There are 2 endings btw so I'd suggest people save constantly through the last level.

Honestly, I think making silos is a waste of time/resources. Just constantly spend the money churning out troops/buildings/defenses/upgrades and you should be good. But if you did want to make one, I think you'll find it in the 2nd or 3rd production tab. They hold up to $2000-2500 worth of tiberium. I do agree with you that CoH made territory control/resource control a little more complex, but at the same time I always try to expand my territory and take over another tiberium field (or 2) and defend it before the enemy does, since tiberium does run out(and regenerate) and extra cash is very helpful.

its fvcking annoying. alt-tabbing out and back in fixes it for a few minutes then i get another one.

I say your g-card driver is out of date, but then again I played on my friend's computer w/o upping to latest Nvidia drivers, haven't seeing any artifacts. But nevertheless, patch the game to 1.02 and up the driver to newest, I am pretty positive this type of stuff is game code/driver issue. Artifacts can also come from OCing your g-card but those doesn't look like the ones you got.

But nevertheless, patch the game to 1.02 and up the driver to newest, I am pretty positive this type of stuff is game code/driver issue. Artifacts can also come from OCing your g-card but those doesn't look like the ones you got.

i have 1.02 and the newest xtreme g drivers

I use XG too, and while I wasn't experiencing graphical glitches, I was having freeze ups with the 100.xx drivers. Reverting back to XG 97-92 seems to be working fine now.

I've found that alt tabbing out and then going back in can fix it.

Anyways...GREAT game. I've never been a fan of multiplayer RTS, since it always feels like the 30 minute match is decided in the first 5 minutes. But the single player is excellent.

There are definitely two endings to the GDI campaign. You can take the easy way out and use the super super weapon, or do it the hard way. And its really, really hard. The only way I could do it was by double nuking them...any sort of conventional assault on that base, even with 30 mammoth tanks is bound to fail, beacuse it looks like the scrin are cheating.

But overall, very awesome time I've been having with it.

I just bought The First Decade and am really liking RA2 and Yuri's Revenge (it's sooo much better than RA1, haven't tried the other games yet). Maybe once (if?) I ever upgrade from this laptop with GMA950 I'll try CnC3. In the meantime, I hope it does well, maybe then EA will release an RA3..

Edit: BTW, Yuri's Revenge won't run unless I have the DVD in the drive, is there a way to get it on my HDD?

are there movies after or before every mission?

i downloaded a no intro fix to stop the intro thing from playing but i just realized that i haven't seen any movies since like the 3rd or 4th mission. i wonder if it disabled those too?

grr...

yes there are movies after each mission, at least the first 4 or 5. After that, you go a couple iwthout a movie.

Taking out the EA intro I believe does take out all movies.

What's the online/LAN play like?

Does it work, or does it continue in the fine EA tradition of multi-player that a) Constantly mismatches and b) Requires manual editing of config files, and adjustment of arcane technical settings before it will work, c) Is incompatible with the majority of home IP routers?

I nearly bought it today, but after buying 'the 2nd decade' which includes generals and zero hour - neither of which I can get work online reliably (after many hours of configuring, editing files, etc. including inspecting packet captures and running various other diagnositcs) - I really want to see what experiences are like, as it is supposed to use the same game engine.
