I was thinking about upgrading my case. Right now I have a large steel tower, but Im going to school in the fall and im thinking it might be time to get something a little lighter and a little smaller(and also better at cooling, or so I've heard). I also like the looks of the aluminum case. So I was just wondering if any of you use this case or have any experience with aluminum cases in general. Here is a link.
thanks,

I don't think anyone will tell you it's a bad case, you just have to ask yourself if you really want to spend a $100 difference for weight and looks (I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say cooling benefits are negligable)? Unless I somehow become rich, my next case will either be entirely hand built or a high quality steel case -- I see no reason to drop that much money on a case.

I just got a PC60 and I love it. I have not noticed any difference in cooling between the PC60 and my modded Enlight 7237. The case looks cool and it is easy to put your components into it. I paid $145 for my case at a local computer shop so im sure you can do better online.

Many of us here have invested in Lian-Li cases and we are glad we did. The best thing about them in my opinion is the ease of accessability when working inside the case.

$105, wow, just make sure you get the newest version of the 60usb that has an aluminum usb door as opposed to plastic, and no plastic bezel around the power switch(mine has these older styles).

I ordered my PC-60 from AllStar. I normally order from Newegg but the price was too good. Shipping was free at the time. I paid $125 for the case and $75 for the Antec True Power 431. The case is great, I absolutely love it. It's light as hell even when fully loaded. The removable drive cage at the bottom is sweet too.

Just checked the site, the case is $129 with free shipping.

I'd like to see a $30 steel/plastic case (~$130 - "$100 difference") that's as easy to work with or as well built as a Li-Li and doesn't look like ass (not that the Li-Li's are Picasso's or anything, but they do look pretty good). And yes, the Li-Li does have cooling benefits, not from aluminum, but from its good design.

The PC6x series are pretty much the mainstream aluminum case now, with things like Skyhawk being the super-budget, ghetto case and Coolermasters being the high(er) end.

Settle down there, turbo. Sorry I didn't go investigate the current lowest prices, I was just referring to the price he quoted. After adding a PSU, though, the difference is still going to be approx. $100 compared to a decent antec steel case with the same "good design" (there's nothing special about the lian li design really).

It's definitely worth it to spend around $200 for a great case and PSU. $100 more than a typical case, so what... a few years ago we were all paying $700 for a CPU.

let's put it this way. I have an antec sx1030b w/ enermax 431watt ps. I've put a couple OC'ed p4's into lesser cases with lesser 400+ watt power supplies and noticed that they don't cool as well. moreover, they suck to work on.

if you want a case that is cake to work on, get an antec -or better-. the lian li, IMO, is a wonderful alternative to the Abrams tank of a tower antec produces. my father has the pc-65 and i do like it. It is a nice little case if you want to light up the inside, and most components are easily manipulated. I dare say that my antec is a bit easier to work with, however. once you get the rails on the larger drives, and the HD's screwed into the cages, you can throw away your screwdriver.

the newer lian li's have a metal cage surrounding the intake filter, fyi. I like that a bit more than the plastic one. also, i absolutely love the fact that the lian li cases come with blue led's. it just looks classy with the nice aluminum finish. now about some of the tacky front bezel tops...

i believe between my antec case and the enermax i'm using, (not counting the original power supply), my setup cost around 150 bucks. keep in mind that this power supply is 80+ and i bought the antec tower 2 years ago for 110. currently you can buy a ps-less chieftec version of my tower for around 50 bucks. same OEM manufacturer and all. so you find less than a 40 dollar discrepency between two good options in cases. I say blow the money on what really appeals to you. my setup is a testement to the fact that while you may buy a new mobo/processor once every year or so, you'll be using a good case for many years to come. get what you like, and just swap internals as you upgrade. you won't be sorry.

I have to agree with you about the front bezel top... my Lian-Li PC-7 is a great case, but I think plain aluminum would have looked better on the front bezel top than that carbon fiber thing.
